Happy new year ladies and gentleman. You know what time it is a new year a new thread so let’s get started. Men AFC Thailand Thai League I Nelson Bonilla - Port FC Thai League II Mark Lester Blanco - Phrae United CONCACAF Canada Marcus Velado-Tsegaye - FC Edmonton Costa Rica Christian Martinez - AD San Carlos Guatemala Liga Nacional Jaime Alas - C.S.D. A few notes on players I left off before I continue with the rest of my updates. Jose Valladares - Leones Dorados F.C. At first I thought he was going to Ascenso MX or the third division but it’s something else entirely. The league he is going to is like the equivalent of the XFL or AAF in that it’s trying to go into cities/towns that don’t have a major club presence so far it isn’t going well add in the pandemic and yikes. Leagues name is Liga de Balompié de Mexico. Brayan Gil - Alainza Petrolero I kept him off because he is a fringe player at the moment the door is still open a crack but FESFUT would need to get off its butt. Brayan will have a lot of competition in the forward spot now that they will move him up to the U23. Marcus Velado-Tsegaye - FC Edmonton I still somewhat view him as a fringe player because I doubt we made a good impression. Until we see him accept more call ups I’ll leave him off the list for now. Jose Tobar - Deportivo Siquinila I took him off the list since this is a guy who will never probably see a call up given his age and if he wasn’t called up during his time prior I doubt he was doing enough to get anyone attention. I know I come off as cruel but that’s just how it is at times. Also his club is playing in the second division so that’s even less eyes on him anyways.
Moves that have happened since. Returned to El Salvador David Rugamas - signed with Once Deportivo Edgardo Mira - signed with Atlético Marte Gerson Mayen - signed with C.D. Águila Juan Barahona - signed with Isidro Metapan Rodolfo Zelaya -signed with Alianza Currently without a club Andres Flores Dustin Corea (Honestly should we even list him anymore?) Kevin Santamaría Unknown Irvin Herrera Romilio Hernandez Oscar “Carmen Sandiego Ceren
So is he actually still eligible to play for El Salvador U23 and/or La Selecta if he changes his mind?
Yes the cancellations have reopened the door somewhat. Also from what I’ve read the competition for the U23 forward spots is even more fierce since the four notables forwards ahead of him all are currently in Europe.
Here is the tweet that speaks on it. Considerando que la competencia de centro delanteros colombianos sub 23 es más fuerte: Cucho Hernández (Getafe 🇪🇸 ), Mateo Cassierra (Belenenses 🇵🇹), Luis Suárez (Granada 🇪🇸), Julian Quiñónes (Tigres 🇲🇽), etc.— LA L⚽️MITA (@LaLomita87) December 25, 2020
Dominguez is no longer with Bolivar. Hopefully he stays in Bolivia though or some other league https://www.elgrafico.com/futbol/Do...livar-Fue-un-placer-enorme-20210101-0016.html

Could we add Eric Calvillo of San Jose Earthquakes?
Announced by San Jose Earthquakes themselves. Start of a new journey. 🇸🇻NEWS: @ericcalvillo26 has committed to join the El Salvador U-23 National Team ahead of Olympic qualifying in March.— San Jose Earthquakes (@SJEarthquakes) January 6, 2021
Omg he has my surname! First time I ever see a Salvadorian with that last name, it's way more common with Mexicans then Guatemalans.
Another woman to add to the list. FELICIDADES! pic.twitter.com/leBMRnyoAu— SelectaTalent (Hugo Alvarado) (@SelectaTalent) January 14, 2021
Add one more to that one.
As for the lack of updates most leagues are currently postponed the only one that started up again is the Netherlands which was on a short break. Vitesse defeated Utrecht 1-0, Enrico is nursing an ankle injury hence why he wasn’t on the list.
Trade in works: MLS sources say LAFC close to deal with Philadelphia Union for rights to homegrown GK Tomas Romero, Georgetown sophomore & Salvadoran youth intl who helped #Hoyas to '19 NCAA title. Unclear whether he will sign right away. Before college, played for Bethlehem/USL.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) January 14, 2021
If he does sign with an MLS club I think he'd do well. Seems to be a very efficient goalkeeper. Positions himself well, is reading the game before someone shoots the ball at Toma's goal. Even if the player is far from goal. he doesn't make any huge movement when it isn't necessary. Which also makes him not flashy goalkeeper, where it's commonly seen in some other goalkeepers showing off speed, or aerial blocking or catches. I can see some fans not liking that, but I think he would help get the job done.
This trade is done, I'm told. Don't know the details. Romero will report to LAFC as soon as camp opens and forego the last three years of NCAA eligibility. #mls— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) January 20, 2021

In more exciting news, Gilbert Fuentes of San Jose Earthquakes has joined fellow Salvadoran-Americans Eric Calvillo and Joshua Perez in making the switch to El Salvador U-23.
Nice addition to the team. There was a lot of hype around him when he was younger at 15 joining San Jose. I'm just hoping he doesn't burn out like Freddy Adu. So far he seems to be an average MLS player. That's not always a bad thing since it's probably better than you're average player that plays in the 1st division in El Salvador.
Christian Sorto of Loudoun United can now be included as he has made the switch to ES.
