Re: Salvadoran coaches (past to present) and (home and abroad)

I though carlos coreas was the coach of vista hermosa, coreas used to coach limeno too.

currently we do no have any salvadoran coach abroad i believe. rumors were that cienfuegos had offers from mexican soccer but he decided to go to nejapa a few years ago. now i guess he is just taking care of his business.

i heard of a few salvadoran coaches in community colleges in los angeles, but im not sure who they are or what colleges.

i dont if salvadoran american college coaches should go here or in the thread of salvadorans in college soccer.

or should we have a new thread of salvadoran college coaches?

by the way, if everythings works as im planning. I should be coaching in college in the next 10 years, it depends on how the job market is. i want to coach but im afraid my career wont let me do it. only time and money would tell. ;)

Before anything else, here is one "high profile" coach that you guys missed.......

Hugo Perez - USSF scout, former USA U20, California Victory (USL) and University of San Francisco (NCAA Division I) assistant coach

Now onto the other coaches. Note the majority coach at a low level, but have achieved relative success which is why i've decided to include them.......

    Abner Calderon (Phoenix Carl Hayden)
Ernesto Cruz (Palo Alto High school and Alpine FC)
    Jose Benitez (Freestate Arsenal)
    Adonay Jovel (Conejo Valley United)
    Raul Barillas (Chicago Magic)
    Carlos Zavaleta (Indiana soccer academy)
Juan Mascaro (Brevard College - NCAA Division II)
Jose Mejia Jr (Real So Cal - US Development Academy)

Also note that Palacios won the Panamanian title in 1990 not 1991 and also formed part of the coaching staff in 1992 when Amador won it's third title.

it may sound funny but when i mentioned that salvadorans were coaching a few community college, i was specifically talking about jovel. when i took a few classes at pierce college in sf valley, somebody told me about jovel but i didnt know much about him. at least in those days i think he was coaching at some community college.

there was another salvadoran coach at another community college in the valley but i dont remember his name of the coach or the college. he was the assistant.

i remember he came to me and told me he was an aliancista, and he told me he helped the coach but he never really played competitive soccer in el salvador.

im sure there is more salvadoran and salvadoran-american coaches in around california.

His son used to post comments in my channel/vids when I was just starting in youtube (May-June 08) and gave me updates on him. Last thing I remember he said was that he had gotten a little fat and cut his hair. Sure he's in shape though now if he's a coach.

Remember that CR game in that pic, ES got two reds (Luis Lazo and Roberto Martinez)....and ES still managed to survive 0-0 (thanks to Superman in large part). It was an amazing feel when the game ended, felt like a win.
