In the Power forum, there's been increased talk of NY signing Cheryl Salisbury, the Aussie NT's leading scorer as an international allocation.

With the Charge shorthanded in assistants, and Coach K only being able to do so much, I feel compelled to state the case for Salisbury. a friendly reminder to those who lurk here from the team :)

25 international goals, was a midfielder before being converted to a defender. She's got size to spare, and do you really want the Power to steal one out from under us? And do you want to face Prinz, Jones and Wambach without somebody who can play 'em eye-to-eye?

On a related note....c'mon, China - it's time to s**t or get off the pot on letting us know whether or not you're keeping your NT'ers home next year.

    Thankee. :p

Paul, just because YOU don't know the status of the Chinese, doesn't mean, WUSA, or Charge, in particular don't know the status of the Chinese.

And I think Krikorian and Murphy have a strategy towards internationals, and again, we aren't privy to this knowledge.

As to Salisbury, who knows, I'd bet she's similar to Julie Fleeting.

But she isn't Pichon or Smith.

Relax and enjoy the off season.

I may be wrong, but it sounds like from the following Soccer America quote that the New York Power have already targeted both Salisbury and Törnqvist as International Discovery Players.
If the WUSA has given the International Discovery Player rights of these players to New York, it is my understanding that no other WUSA team can negotiate with Salisbury and Törnqvist for the next two seasons.

Given Sermani's from Aussieland, I'm not surprised he's pursuing Salisbury.

He proibably has more insight into her than most others.

Interesting the defensive tone of the two players, given the porous aspect of NY play last year.

    exactly!

and i am not suprised either that Sermani is pursuing Salisbury, since he does know a lot of the matildas - being their head coach for 2 years he knows what talent we have :D but what ever team Salisbury goes to, I am just happy to see another aussie over there...i also hope Golebiowski gets picked up 2, she deserves it! & Slayter, she rocks!

    GO AUSSIE!!!

with the 4 pick why would we get a big girl like salisbury anyway...id rather have withers and move fair to the wing for extra offense...save the allocations for a winger i say.

power need D...its a good pickup for them.
