Hey go get Life man !!!!!!,before the tournament everybody told our U-23 can't go past Group stage but they did it easily, then they told they would be kicked out in semis but again they proved everyone wrong, this time every Maldivian was telling they would thrash us 3-0 4-0 but can't even score a single goal and our India U-23 won the cup.If still these ANTI-INDIANS are finding it difficult to digest then i'm sorry go BLAME YOUR USELESS PLAYERS AND COACH
Your getting your Facts completely wrong !!!!!!! India did not host the tournament cause Pakistan players could not get visas as there were some Political problems Schedule was a problem for all teams,so you can't show it as reason for India's victory
I didn't say the schedule was a reason for victory, just giving my opinions on making it longer and giving teams more preperation time. Maybe with that time India wouldn't off lost a group game?? The fact is, India wanted to host it yes, but then lost interest. You know the tournament was never confirmed when India was the host, but when Bangladesh stood in, things started to move. The fact that Pakistan couldn't get visa's, well this is India's probably, they should open up for sport. If they can't give visa's for SAFF Cup, then they will never host the world event. This is an outsiders view, no bias towards any country. The problem you have my friend, is that you are shouting from the lip defendign your country without having any thought for anything else. So start to digest what people are saying and be open to opinions. As for talking about my facts, am i completly wrong when i say the real tes tis defending Challenge Cup? This is a compliment to you Indians as i am saying you have outgrown this SAFF Regional competition, it's good for you but not good for SAFF
With only ten days of preparation and a young side, India defied the odds to regain the supremacy in South Asian football by beating Maldives a 3-1 in the final of the Sixth SAFF Championship last night. Thanks to the superior gameplan of a master tactician and the brilliant performances from a goalkeeper, India got past the hurdle to lift the coveted trophy for the fourth time. The success will prove a major boost to the young Indian side, most of who will view this success as a launching pad for a long career in the national side. The final match turned out to be a battle between the Maldives strikers and India's goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharja. He made some brilliant saves during 120 minutes of play and then stopped two penalties to emerge as the most valuable player of the tournament. However, Arindam was reluctant to take all the credit at the post-match briefing and said that it was down to a complete team effort that won them the trophy. "Its not only me, all the members of the team played well in this match. The defenders did a wonderful job and made my job easy. "I followed the instructions that the coach gave before the shoot-out and that plan worked", said Bhattacharja. "This win is a result of the fighting spirit of the team. We were instructed to play positive and good football. We wanted to go match by match, and not with any pressure of winning the tournament," said the Churchill Brothers goalkeeper who didn't concede a single goal in the four matches that he played. Bhattacharja was obviously excited, but not overly so, after playing such a key role in his team's success, "I am pleased to win the MVP award. But I am keeping my feet on the ground. I will have to play with this sort of consistency all the time to find my place in the national side."
India coach Sukhvinder Singh gave all the credit to his charges for winning such a competitive match and the tournament, "All the credit goes to the boys for the way they performed. "We were under pressure from the Maldives strikers in the second half. We had to adjust to our game plan and decided to go a bit defensive, as we were missing a couple of important players due to injuries", said the veteran India coach. Sukhvinder's counterpart, Urbanyi Istvan took the defeat gracefully. "Our boys did very well to get to the final. I thank all the fans and the officials for their continued support." As to why his side that scored eleven goals in the tournament failed to find one in the final, Istvan said, "It happens sometimes. Probably luck wasn't on our side tonight. "It was a tough game. We created more chances than India. But we found it hard to get a decider, especially for the way they played. And when it goes to penalties, it can go either way." TEAMS India: Arindam Bhattacharja (gk), Ronaldo Rodrique, Baldeep Singh (Nirmal Chetri), Balwant Singh (Je Je Lalpekhala), Sushil Kumar Singh (Captain), Joaquim Abranches, Jibon Singh, Dharmaraj Ravanan, Robert Lalthlamuana, Denzil Franco, Jewel Raja Sheikh (Subodh Kumar). A job well done. Lets hope we get some decent practice now to prepare ourselves for the Asian Cup in 2011
We are much more brilliant then you indians..... we have won more matches against you in football than you have against us....so for cricket and hockey too..... followed by rugby and squash.... volleyball and swimming... and so on... you are only superior on us in shooting or else nothing but a waste of money and now you won the match by BRIBING the maldives football team which i am sorry to say you try to do in every match off every game but fail to do always but succeded in doing so in the final of SAFF championship..... in fair play you always lose....
Let me clear your misconceptions first: 1) No team in SAFF will sell der country for money except pakis. 2) Maldives team are way richer dan paki team. 3) You are no way near our Cricket , Hockey or Football team. 4) The only sport you've excelled ahead of India is Squash everythInG Else we are way better dan U!!! you dot know anything abt football da moment you said its an UMPIRE(in your previous msg) My advice to pakis try field a team made up of pakis first!! it'll help you in da long term!!!!!!!!
Well you see pakis will not get visas at any cost for SAFF not just for SAFF der is doubt over der participation in nxt year Hockey WC, Commonwealth Games, IPL all to be held in India... Yes retaining da Challenge Cup is tough task but we are up for it u saw how brilliant our defence was in SAFF if dey fare well in Challenge Cup den 2010 Asian Games will see a new power..... Finally our Fed had tough time sending da U23 team to SAFF and we wont be disrespecting SAFF
Challenge Cup will be a different Indian team, and you will be facing much stronger opposition. But lets face it, this Challenge Cup isn't about winning, it's building for the Asian Cup.
mrmastersk3 let me give you some general knowledge which you really need... 1- Pakistanis never sell their country for money like the indians.. 2- It's not about being richer or not , it;s being fake countryman or true countryman.... 3- Cricket Pakistan 67-43 India..... Hockey Pakistan 82-29 India and Football Pakistan 31-29 India.... So who is behind???? 4-The only sport YOU have excelled ahead of pakistan is shooting or nothing.... I think so you would have got a bit of general knowledge about sports ...... better have knowledge about sports first then speak.... by the way i am a human so i can make mistakes like umpire etc.... if you don't make mistakes then you prove it that you are not a human...
This is SAFF Cup 2009 thread not India vs Pakistan abuse thread,it would be better if you finish it off from here
I cant understand wat u've written in 31-29 if it is H2H den it is 12 wins 6 draws 2 losses in favour of India im not a cricket buff to correct your other records but if paki is better dan India in other sport den der medal tally shud speak: All time CWG medal tall: India 104 90 72 266 Pakistan 21 17 16 54 All time Asian Gmeas medal tally: India 112 154 209 475 Pakistan 34 46 73 153 I could not get all time south asian games tally dis is da previous games tally: India 118 69 47 234 Pakistan 43 44 71 158 So i think ur misconceptions are cleared so: END OF DISCUSSION!!!!
let me end the discussion here.... I don't know where did you got that records when i got different....for CWG,asian and south asian games..... well if you ask for end of discussion then ok..... bye bye...
Relax guys, dont create war just like every other individual around the world. India is better or Pakistan is better i dont really care.. at one point you guys were one nation, now look at you, grow up guys...
