Classy move GT. Sticky it if you see fit. We should always remember those who have given their lives for this country...whether or not we agree with why they lost their lives.

Also, quick CNN typo to correct:

Capt. Ryan Anthony Beaupre, 30, of St. Anne, Ill.

Not to get on you too much, but I noticed one woman among the list and I'm sure there will be more to come, unfortunately. Also there are currently female POWs, but I'm sure you know that.

I get the U.S. names and info from the Department of Defense. If anybody can provide an official source for British troops, I'll add them to the list.

You're right, force of habit. I did not mean to belittle LT Archuleta's sacrifice.

There is no way to express my gratitude to not only those listed above, but to all who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.

This list pains me. It pains me becuase these are REAL people, with REAL families, just as the Iraqis who are dying are REAL people with REAL Families. This is not a TV show the way the news media are playing it up to be.

I hope this is over soon and their deaths aren't in vain.

I agree with you Richth76. It seems like the media is playing this as another one of those "reality shows". In their self-congratulatory masturbation of their "embedded" reporters and images we have quickly lost site of the tragedy of young men and women dying.

I for one think the US Media should play the video of the captured Americans troops that the rest of the world has already seen. Maybe then it will shock all of us into the ugly reality of what war really is. That this is not "Survivor-The Iraq Version".

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of these young men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Whether you agree with the policy that put these men and women in harm's way, the fact that they were willing to volunteer for such a potentially dangerous occupation is enough to give an incredible amount of respect.

Let me join in the chorus of voices that says: may we see this conflict through successfully, may these folks be safe, and may we get them back to their families as quickly as possible.

I'm not sure if it was in the online version today but there was large section in today's USA today that gave a bio and personal stories about many of those who have been killed in action. It was very difficult to read. One that hit me particularly hard was about a man whose twins were born a month after he deployed.

If someone knows of a charity to donate to for these families I would be most appreciative.

I must admit that I am not really following this "war" stuff closely like most of you guys but when I came home last night from work and turned on the news and saw that a fellow Idahoan died over there I had a moment of silence for him.

He was based at Gowen Field just south of the Boise Airport. He was in the Idaho Air National Guard.

I do believe he has two little boys.

A fellow Alabamian was wounded a few days ago and is now at Ramstein. There's been a lot of coverage about it because he's in serious condition. Also, one of the POWs trained here, and married a girl from here so he's been getting a lot of attention locally too.

Heros - all of them -

Next time you see the stars and stripes wave - stand proud and remember the fallen.

Freedom and democracy and liberty isn't cheap.

Next time any of you are in DC - visit one of the memorials (Vietnam or Korean) or Arlington National Cemetery.
