You joke but that's probably true. I read in the Buckle Q&A that he just spoke with Kinnear, I'm sure there may be someone coming here soon. Maybe one of the new young guys they signed, maybe an underperforming player. The Quakes season is almost toast... :(

The tables thread is going up on Wednesday.

San Jose isn't toast yet, but it's mainly because Houston and Seattle kind of suck too.

Cazarez and Tandir were signed in mid-August last year, so another possibility is there are "normal" signings coming. Maybe Buckle had some players from Europe in mind, or who knows?

Last year's USL roster freeze date was 8/19. Don't know about this year.

Estrada started for OC last night.

Roster freeze is Sept 1 this season.

The roster on the club's website lists 23 players.

Unless we are bringing in some spectacularly better player I don't see adding a new piece or two right now as being a net positive to the team. It may just cause more bad than good. I think we cut some guys that went cutting their weight or weren't in the teams long-term plans, but I don't think adding new pieces will necessarily help since we have a good thing going already.

Didn't we add Kiffie around this time last year?

I'm surprised they didn't loan us Silva.

Ditto - but just like us, the Quakes are pretty thin in defensive backup. He's staying for emergency I'm sure.

Anyway, stoked to have TT and Koval back. Kinnear is obviously not wanting them to play, so better here than rotting on the bench in SJ.

    Sherrod - meh..

This move was timely - USL roster freeze and players need to have 5 USL games under their belt to be eligible for the playoffs.

With our injuries and suspensions in the midfield, the timing is right anyway. But talk about literally the last minute possible, just like last year. Quakes haven't been utilizing this affiliation like they should have been. Now throwing new players in the mix can be helpful or hurtful, we'll see what happens!

I doubt these 3 are loaned for the remainder of the season. Koval and TT have been unused on the bench but in the squad for at least the last 4 Quakes games so they needed match practice and SJ played last night so 7 days to recover - I'd guess they'll be back on bench for SJ this Saturday but may fly to Vancouver if they don't play much. The 3 remaining Republic games, Quakes play the same day and I can't see Kinnear weakening his bench to help out Republic...

Sherrod hasn't even been in the squad for 3 weeks and hasn't played since mid July so he may stick around if none of their strikers get hurt.

My guess is if any are to go back, it will be Koval.

With Daly gone is there anyone we could get to replace him? A lot of young defenders got released from MLS recently. Phanuel Kavita, Danny Garcia, Ethen Sampson, Otis Earle, just to name a few.

I'm sure we could get one of those, but likewise we could poach a defender from another USL team.

What I'm wondering is if the club's trip to England resulted in anything. Will we see a player loaned over from a lower division club there? Would be neat.

    Defenders
Jalil Anibaba, Jeb Brovsky, Greg Cochrane, Leonardo Gonzalez, Tony Lochhead, Tommy Meyer, Roy Miller, Lovel Palmer, Chris Schuler, Jordan Stewart, Anthony Wallace, Kwame Watson-Siriboe

Don't forget future all star defender Tony Lochead.

Dike, Arrieta, and Meyer seem good. The first if he can stay healthy.
