The kid is very very good and is just 17. I think I read that at the very least someone has to offer 12 -15 mil.

Because he's much worse for country than for club.

(The flip side of this is that he's much better for club than for country: good for him, seriously. Glad that he can earn a living, but as a fan primarily of the USMNT, he's just not that important to me.)

Anderlecht plays better with him in the lineup. IMO, the case can be made for him even better than for other of our guys, that he and his clubs' better results go hand in hand.

No idea why Hasi more or less said Sacha was not in his plans, only to later recant and keep the American around. Thing is, this guy has been very badly used in the USMNT setup. He's a connecting CM, the kind who needs a defensive CM or DM behind him, and a more daring CM or CAM in front. Klinsmann played him on the left, as a fake winger.

Yeah that was a weird statement. Seems to be using Kljestan for depth and gotta figure he's 1 of the more higher paid players at the club and most experienced.

Maybe the same way Beckham got back into Capello's good graces (while at Real Madrid)--hard work?

For me--at the USMNT, he just isn't good enoguh. People down play how strong the level is when playing for your NT. The games he featured in where he was just 'meh' were some pretty tough ones. Yes--he may have been played on the wings, but he still should have shown better just based on his resume.

I just don't think his level is good enough to be given mroe of a chance for the nT. He's even lucky that he's still in europe. In a different world he could of been like many good but not great journeyman MLS'ers.

His Belgian comrades play Arsenal at home tomorrow. Huge match for them.

He seemed like 1 of those guys who excelled at club and totally failed at the NT. Though it is the Belgian league and the NT has better talent and his favored position he was probably 5th or 6th best even when Bradley was in charge.

Sacha may be a sub in that game, he has a knack for playing in the CL while being firmly planted to the pine in the league games.

The man is listed on the bench for this one. Hate to ask, as I should know this, but is he the only YA in CL play this term?

Zelalem could still make an appearance with 5 more injuries. At their current rate, it's in play.

Najar just scored for Anderlecht, and the first person he hugged on the sideline was Sacha

Welp. I guess that's why having too many kids can be a bad thing.

That's incredibly nice of him. Last time I saw that happen was when Clint scored and he hugged EJ back at Fulham or Villa running to hug Torres when he got that hat trick against Russia ala Euro 08

How does someone who "totally failed" at NT get 38 caps? What does "totally fail" mean? What does it take to get there? 20 own goals? What level is assigned to someone that only had 5 caps? A "national embarrassment"? Hate to even think of what label would apply to all of us that were never worthy for NT consideration.

I think Sacha has "failed" under Klinsmann, especially the way he has used him.

"Totally fail" in relation to their club career primarily when it's a top European club or top club in its league.

Move, most likely. Once PT dries up completely, players tend to move on pretty fast, so long as they have options. And if they don't, the current club is often willing to sweeten the deal with a payoff.

He might try to stick to a loan in January if he feels that there's a chance coach will not be there in July, but others would know more about the chances of that than I do.
