Of course I care! I'm an American soccer fan!

By the way, I've heard they actually have soccer leagues in other countries, as well. Is this true?

I hate MLS, but will root for any team that beats the Crew. I go out of my way to NOT watch that stuff.

Is it true that they have a soccer league in the US?

I agree with Garcia this thread was a mistake.

Well, it's not exactly a term of endearment, now, is it? But you're right.
Actually, now that I look at my original post, I realize my mistake. I had meant to include the 'smiley face' icon next to my comment, to indicate that I was only kidding (in a self-depreciating manner), and not 'trolling' (I had to look that term up). Due to my internet ineptitude, I didn't do this correctly. So I apologize for that.

Actually, I'm a great admirer of South American football. In fact, I think that, if anything, it is underrated at the club level.

I think it's time for me to say adieu to BigSoccer. I never seem to have anything of value or insight to add, and when I try to kid around I stick my big foot in my stupid mouth. So I'll cut my losses and cut out of here.

Again, sorry for the misunderstanding, and I am properly chastised.

    Bonjour...

no, the thread is no mistake

the thread is just to hear other views from other countries different than MlSers....usians or gringos (no racial or insult intended, just a historic name from south of the border)

here in this forum, we are visited by many nationalities! diversity is quite welcome here!

I followed MLS for 5 yrs, until they closed doors to the florida teams, now I just read after the the games, and ck on the scores and new players

Now this is funny, MLS in South American forum.
I´ll have the chance to see some games on ESPN2 this years, so maybe you will see my jaws in MLS forum sometimes, maybe if I take interest.
I have seen they have a lot of latin players, sometimes it seem as another latin teams. In the WC music album all the song representing USA are latin music. So??it makes me think in USA football is for latins because real gringos play baseball and rugby?

in past yrs every team had at least 2players from southamerica.

If not (case of clash SJ) they were from costa rica or honduras.

tampa bay: pibe valderrama and Jeferson gotardi (bolivia)

revs-foxboro: had an Uruguayan coach, fernando clavijo, leonel alvarez (col), and few others with conmebol blood.

miami: Serna Lopera and pineda chaco (HDS), at one point the coach was brazilerio -Ivo Wortman

chicago: used euros most of the times, but there are few names like Orlando perez (los angeles), rodrigo Faria (brazil), carlos Bocanegra and chris Armas (half puertorican)
dallas: oscar pareja (col) - Joselito vacca (bol) y un peruano and defense man ryan Suarez, that one point sounded for the uruguayan national team.

new York: en sus primeros años tenia siempre un colombiano, ahora acaba de contratar un argentino y a jaime Morenoi (bol)

c-Bus: tenia o tiene la pelusa perez y un defensa de costa rica, torres daniel, la rata garcia (guate)

dc united: peruvian from lima, el chino alegria, Eliseo quintanilla (salva) marco echeverri (bol) and jocon reyes (hDS)

Kansas city: el bogotano diego, y un argentino que competia con un ruso por la titularidad.

colorado: retired marcelo balboa, last yr pibe valdarrama, and a young guy from venezuela.

like, I said.... I used to follow in the years of tampa Bay, but now I just read results and scores....(coach modelo from spain, started the downsize of the league with tampa's performance)

luis chavez, many here are usa citizens

do not worry, do not take it personal
but you do not qualify for that warm way to call a grp of people, your name can not just justify that!

do you really know the history of that word?

is no big deal, man....get over it

this thread is about opinions about MLS from southamericans on your league (or mine? I am not sure...... don Garber took a piece from us in florida)

i didnt know the season started saturday until yesterday.

MLs is not a priority, but will watch it on occasion if there is nothing on and dont have anything to do. I usually click on soccerTV and make a print out of the week just too see some of the EPL and Liga games.

Between the MFL, Argentine league, EPL and La Liga... i really dont have time to watch every league. Its not that i dont care for to watch other leagues, its jut that I cant because of other compromises. I do watch the Copa libertadores games and Champions League games.

If I am not taking care of my schooling or my business.... heres my football schedule..

Watch the MFL games on Univision, Galavision, Telefutura, Azteca America, or Telemundo. I try to watch all of them, but on a given weekend.. i usually watch at least 7 of the 10 fixtures for that weekend. I dont miss America or the mexican national team though. not for anything

On sundays around 2 or so... they have a River or Boca game on FSWE... i watch those games.

I also watch the EPL games on FSE and La Liga ones..

Here and there... i'll watch the German and Brazilian league when its on. I use to like watching the Chilean league but they havent carried too many games these year...

    Very weak!

I'm really not digging this 8 out of 10 playoff system. One of the main reasons I can't bare to watch. It really means nothing to play the season.Yes, I knew the season started some time in april. I even caught a few seconds of the game on abc.

ok.. on the one hand i have no problem with the word gringo. and i'm friends with people who are of the opinion that gringo is only a quarter of a word (the other three quarters of the word being hijo de ************), on the OTHER hand, ni**er is ANOTHER simple word with a historical meaning and that doesn't make IT any nicer, so yes gringo is kind of a slur.

    MLS rocks.

8 teams is way too many.

    get rid of single entity.

¡Habrase visto semejante ridiculez!

    Etc etc etc bla,bla,bla.

    thanks for the opinions guys...

rdl--- get ready next summer you may even have a team in HOuston (unless your graduation take you back home)

bopper.... I can see why so many hate the easy way into playoffs 8 from 10..... but remember that 2 yrs ago it was 8 from 12! 12 are to be back next year....

so far they average about 13k or 14 per season, last time I ck the colombian liga was doing 9k per game (18 teams and very complicated playoff system)

Hey no one should forget where they come from. They should also never forget where they are. This country has given so much to not only me but to so many other people. The thing that bothers me are those people who dont appreciate what this land has given them. I aint gonna lie, If I was not here I would not like to even think about where i would be. On the whole Iraq and ---************ that you posted, I as well as millions of other people who live in the USA have every right to protect themselves, I commend Bush for taking care of us.
One thing that I will always remember is that if I was in another country and I disagree with the Leader (President) I would be dragged in the streets, If that happens in the US the worst they can do is give me more Taxes!!!

    I LOVE AMERICA
