Mayor has big-league goals for soccer here - San Antonio Business Journal
San Antonio Mayor Ed Garza says the next 30-45 days could be pivotal in determining whether the Alamodome will land an expansion Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise...
The 65,000-seat Alamodome may be the lure that gets San Antonio an MLS expansion franchise. But it may not be the answer long-term.

its also says that they are 50-50 for '05. well, this news is better then no news.

Interesting article. The Spurs are well liked there and have all the office infrastructure they need. they will need a soccer-saavy salesforce, but on the whole the financial advantage of having two teams in one front office is obvious. It has not hurt the Wiz any that I can tell.

The dome would suck, but if the Spurs sign the contract to build an outdoor stadium like the new Rapids owner did, it works.

The thing to do is have Monterrey play the Burn there, see what happens.

    Just two things, promise

If other futbol club across the world have basketball or tennis teams, why not San Antonio Spurs having a San Antonio Spurs soccer team?

If they play in the Alamo Dome with the AC on, shouldn't they be know as the Coldspurs.
