6/7 in DC + 6/8 USA in Richmond I will be organizing a group ticket buy for any interested Fire fans for the Saturday June 7th match in DC at RFK stadium. Details have not been worked out yet. We will not be in a "Napervillian" section like last time. UltraCinek, has there been any interest in any Ultras making this match? Please advise so we can all be together. For USA fans, make it a weekend in Virginia. The US Men's National Team will play against New Zealand in Richmond, VA, only 2 hrs down I-95 from DC on Sunday, June 8th. The match will be part of a doubleheader with the Richmond Kickers. I will only supply ticket information for this match and not make a group buy. You will need to contact Sam's Army or other US Supporters reps for this match. Feel free to PM me or email me at hori_too@yahoo.com if you are interested and how many tickets to the Fire match you would like. I will buy the first 20 and will be able to take PayPal or Yahoo PayDirect for payments. More as things develop. In Fire, Kirsten mods, please sticky.
it would be great to have some of the US Chicago supporters at Richmond. I know La Norte will be there. Bangales y Banderas por todos.
6/7 FIRE FAN Section Ticket Info Gracias. I know of a few who are making initial and/or firm plans. There will be a small group up from the Triangle. Don't know if they are up to the enthusiasm of a USA Supporters (fka Sams Army) section. Is La Norte making a group buy? If so, count 2 in. Email or PM me off board. As for Saturday's Fire match: Make it a footy weekend in Virginia [is for soccer lovers]. I have secured 20 tickets as an initial purchase for FIRE fans. Location: Section 104, rows 1-2 (behind FIRE bench) Price: $19 (incl. S&H) I will be accepting PayPal and Yahoo PayDirect as payments. http://www.paypal.com/ hori_too@y... If you want an invoice from PayPal or PayDirect please email me offlist at hori_too@yahoo.com. Purchase through me ASAP. I want to be able to call up Dan Giffin and order more. Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. In all things RED and beautiful, Kirsten displaced Party Babe
Just got info from Goodwin on link to purchase 6/8 supporters section tickets through La Norte. http://martnet.com/~jgoodwin/usasupporters/archives/000105.html I've got mine, now get yours.
Geez, like half the internet is unreachable this morning. May just be me. That page is also reachable off the main page http://www.usasupporters.com/ (when the other half of the internet starts working again). For any upcoming games, click the matchup in the left hand column, and you'll get ticket information. For sections organized primarily by USA SUPPORTERS, you'll be able to buy online through paypal. For Sammers organized events, you'll get a link to their site. For this doubleheader, tickets are $17, in section A of the West Stands (behind the North Goal). Tickets will be available for pickup at will call in envelopes marked with the name of the purchaser, and the words USA SUPPORTERS in red. I'll be traveling out to DC and Richmond for these games, either flying or driving. Not sure yet. If I drive then I'll probably take Friday and Monday off and put in a stop at my grandparents' place in western PA. If I fly, I'll surely pick up a rental (may get a rental even if I drive) so let me know if you need travel assistance to Richmond. Tickets are readily available to Baltimore, Reagan, and Dulles from either Midway or O'Hare for a bit more then $180 round trip via expedia. If you fly in for the DC match, we'll make sure that caravanning is available to get you to Richmond and back to the airport by Monday morning.
Kirsten, pencil me in for the Chicago game. As of now I'm not sure if I have a trip to LA that weekend or not, should know by early next week.
Sounds good. If anyone has any questions about tickets or needs tickets for the DC v FIRE match, please PM or email me at hori_too@yahoo.com indicating your name, email and number desired or your question. I will create either a PayPal or Yahoo PayDirect invoice for you -- you're choice. I would definitely prefer advance payments. I can either mail the ticket to you in advance of the match or meet you at the La Norte tailgate up to 1/2 before kickoff. Kirsten [mods please sticky this thread]
Bus from DC -Richmond? The SEs are looking into maybe doing a bus trip to Richmond and if so we could certainly take Chi folks with us. We need a minimum of 35 people to run a trip so if any of you might be interested, let me know (getting some numbers will help us decide). kim@screaming-eagles.com Obviously you'd need to book a late flight on Sunday but we might be able to make a stop at National Airport on the way back. We'll try to make a decision soon so you folks can book your flights accordingly. K
Reminder for FIRE/DC tickets The initial ticket buy is halfway spoken and paid for. I cannot guarantee any tickets in the Fire Fan section. Come on, I need more Fire folks with me to sing, "All we are saying is give us a goal". Of course, the DC fans might join us on that one. Tickets are $19 each advance. Please use PayPal or Yahoo PayDirect -- email address hori_too@yahoo.com It's going to be a fun weekend! Kirsten
Thanks, Alf. Update: I have tickets in hand now. If you are in Triangle, NC area I can meet you to collect cash for ticket at a possible watch party for the FA Cup Final and the USWNT. Details of the party are still being worked out, but please PM or email me off board for info. Otherwise, I can mail ticket to you up to 10 days prematch -- to be sure you get it. Else, hunt me down in Lot 8 (tailgate area). $19 each. PayPal and Yahoo PayDirect. Please contact me in advance if you need other arrangements. I would STRONGLY encourage payments in advance rather than waiting until match day. I don't mean to be a bitch about it -- well, yes I do -- If you know of Fire Fans in DC area who do not read Big Soccer or are on Yahoogroups list, please forward this info to them. Esp folks like Zach's family. . . . Another plea to the mods of this forum, please sticky. Kirsten
I don't think the stick works. I don't even notice those threads at the top of the thread. Besides, I don't like it getting cluttered up there. 1 is well enough for me.
FWIW, I also tend to ignore the stickied threads, not on purpose, just happens that way. I think you're better off not stickied.
About the Mens Nat's match in Richmond, Alot of the Nats fans and Richmond Kickers fans meet at a pub near-by called Banditos Borrito Lounge. great food and they have some tv's. The DC United fans met there when we traveled down for the exhibition vs. the kickers and IMHO they place was very open to us, and I still feel bad about that band that tried to play for us (we were too busy watching the first MLS match of the season on tv). But if your not going down on the SE's bus, you should prob. meet us there if thats where the Eagles are going to stop for food. (by the way- the kickers stadium doesnt allow tailgates, thats the reason for meeeting at Banditos). Well I hope my side wins both matches thanks guys and I hope to see alot of you down here for both matches, Fire fans are always welcome at our tailgates, as are most fans who travel for a match (this excludes the Scum and Galaxatives). thanks again, scott
Thanks for the update on the tailgate situation. Doesn't suprise me actually, since it's on a college campus. Think Naperville and the Fire's continuing situation through the majority of the season. Cheers! Kirsten
Actually, U of R stadium isnt on the campus. The stadium is in the city, but the university is in a surrounding county. So dont use directions for the campus because you will end up in the middle of suburbia. What you do is take I-95 to 64, immediate exit left onto the Powhite Parkway then exit at Cary Street and Grove. The stadium is off cary street. wow. I dont know how i got there from Tailgate but there it is. But at RFK, I know Someone always has visiting friends from other teams hanging out playing some pickup ball.
Ok, I'm looking for someone else to either codrive (I've got a manual transmission), or at least ride along and keep me awake on the way back to Chicago from Richmond. Plan is to leave Friday evening, possibly stop in western pa to sleep, then get to DC well before gametime (7.30 PM ET). Then either stay the night in DC or drive down to Richmond, and stay the night there, and go to the USA vs New Zealand game that next afternoon. (1.00 PM CT) Then drive directly back to Chicago. Hope is to be back in time to not have to take more than a half day off work (or to work the whole day but as a zombie). Let me know, email me with the link below, or send a PM or IM me (falcomjeg via YIM or falcomadol via AIM). Objectives: Avoid taking more time off from work than is absolutely necessary; Avoid paying 200 dollars and the hassle of getting to DC and Richmond from Baltimore or 300 by flying to DC; Not get killed in the process. Ninja Mask is optional, having fun and supporting the Fire and Nats is mandatory.
I have a few tickets unspoken for. PayPal prepayments accepted only or cash at match - no guarantees, first come first serve in latter case. Kirsten
Bump And, I just started a thread on the United boards https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=52636 about organizing a watch party for the 4:00PM espn2 broadcast. I'd like like to watch the home opener of the Galaxy's new stadium live with a bunch of MLS fans. Summers seems like an obvious choice (though I wish it had a better selection of beer).
