Blue and yellow kits with black and yellow refs is confusing

Netherlands in the Final. Congrats to the Dutch!
Quite remarkable when you think how weak their front-three is performing in this tournament. Van den Sanden is awful, Martens mostly a shadow of her form in the EUROs and Midema did all right but nothing special.

Thierry Henry scored the golden goal in the final of a special 10th anniversary edition of the Confederations Cup back in 2003.

    FT: 1-0.

    USA-Netherlands final.

    England-Sweden third place match.

Hope that Swedish player is okay. Hate to see that happen.

120+7' (of +2') 1-0 Bloodworth clears into near touch.

120+8' (of +2') 1-0 Jakobsson jumps around 2 at 1m wide right, loses ball.

120+8' (of +2') 1-0 Sweden switch left, win a throw-in. High cross from 11m wide left to 7m right post, van Veenendaal comes out amidst 3, catches while falling and hangs on.

AET 1-0. Netherlands advances to the final!

Is Asllani fine? I'm terribly worried about her.

Wow--that was a battle royale. You see which team cranked it up when the match got down to the business end--the Dutch. It was a slugfest--and Jackie Groenen, who has been inconsistent with her finishing, with a great strike to win it.

FIFA needs to shorten the extra time rule. It's stupid to play an extra 30 regardless--and then of course the referee adds extra time to each extra time period, and this for two teams facing one fewer day of rest.

Well go USA in the final because this Dutch team ain’t just that good imo to win a World Cup... They have obviously come so far for a reason perhaps but US is a better team

That was repayment for Erika faking an injury, late in 2nd E.T.
Erika needed to be carried off the field in a stretcher and then immediately came back on the field hopping and skipping. LOL!

Congrats to the Dutch. Been the best Euro team over the past few years. Finding a way to win games, have some quality players and offer few if any errors. The BBC pundits are being very condescending about the Dutch chances in the final.

Swedes were slightly unlucky in a tight game. No idea how that penalty wasn’t called for them.

Yup. The team called The Wednesday (now Sheffield Wednesday) came up with the idea. It was used in the second competition ever, the Cromwell Cup.
the game would never have ended otherwise.
Mind you, the offside rule was any forward pass unless tree defenders were in front of you then.

Anyway lol conceding that goal is just unforgivable because it was like 4 against Wambach? :p

I think he was referring to a tweet someone posted about 3 blond and 1 blonde dogs.
You quoted it and posted a question asking if Van De Sanden changed her hair color.

Personally, I don't mind reading friendly banter, as long as it doesn't get personal.

This is like the 3rd or 4th time you've complained about 2 E.T. halves. We get it, you don't like it... when the Dutch have to endure it.

I mean if Netherlands played better then perhaps they could’ve avoided 30+ minutes of play lol

Either that or at least get the ball  I really respect women’s football but that was really awful by Brazil like I don’t want to watch it again

Yeahhh, bummer. Lots of tearing up on the field -- Fischer in the post-game interview was very red-eyed (not used to that from her), and she's one we won't see too much more of, though I imagine she'll hold on for the Olympics.

Oh well -- I am not at all objective but I have nothing to say against the Netherlands -- Sweden simply didn't convert their several chances, so there it is. The refereeing was perhaps a little odd at times, but it was ever thus.
