Telford for Bardsley (injured); Mead for Kirby; Daly for Duggan.

Horan for Mewis (and Lavelle => LM); Press for Rapinoe.

Don’t knock the cricket ;) It’s a great game, especially one day and 20/20 formats.

Maybe Morgan will get into the behind of Bronze to use the spaces.

I am surprised to hear myself saying thanks to the BBC, but so be it. Thanks to the BBC so I can follow this in the air (hoping that the game will be broadcast just like the preview!).

Have to say it's a very brave move by Ellis, but it's probably the smart one. She'll get crucified if the US lose though even though Rapinoe has been pretty pedestrian from open play in this tournament. Having Bronze on that side would really expose her I think, which is why Ellis is switching it up.

If Rapinoe is not even warming up, then something really serious must have come up. But if this is not related to medical issues, then it's a huge gamble by Jill Ellis to say the least, especially when Christen Press didn't play too many minutes in recent times.

edit: Rapinoe scored all of her team's 4 goals in knockout rounds. Her absence really leaves a huge question mark about how the rest of the US team will perform.

This match just looks weird even before it starts.

    Morgan needs to step up.

It sure does. No number one goalie for England, no Megan Rapinoe, the game will have an awkward feeling.

As for Morgan, she has been very poor ever since the Thailand game; I'm not shy in saying it. Unless Morgan does something good in the dressing room like Olivier "No Goal" Giroud did for France in the men's last year, I see no justification for Jill Ellis to not try someone else up front.

She did quite good last match against France.

Also after nearly 2 matches' rest as sub, Horan need to bring up something.

I've got nothing against cricket, but I will relate this:
In my consulting years, I spent a good 2 year stretch flying over to UK from mainland Europe almost every week for various customer visits. Every night I would turn on a hotel TV to catch up on news and such, and inevitably get all the latest cricket scores. And cricket has to be the only sport out there where a neophyte can hear the scores, and not only fail to determine who won the game, but indeed whether a *game* was even played!
I mean between overs and unders, wickets and tests, and what have you... I'm just saying, it's not for the faint of heart ;-)

the teams are closely matched and a lot will depend on individual matchups, individual performances, injuries, fatigue, all the usual variables of sports and Styles Make Fights.

But for what it's worth, US is favored using the ratings but not at all by an overwhelming amount:

    By official ratings:
USA (2101) expected odds to advance (.574) over England (2049)

By performance ratings since 1/1/2018 thru the quarterfinals:
USA (perf rating 2134) expected odds to advance (.623) over England (perf 2047)

I hope to see a few England fans dressed up as knights in the crowd. They are always a joy to look at in men's games.

IMO, this is being made a bit too much. 1 FK and 2 PKs and only 1 from open play. And the one from open play really was nothing her, it was about the overall break.

Well, apparently she made some kind of "iconic" pose that the "internet when wild" about. Some pose that has never been done before, by male or female, in any sport, ever. Perhaps that is why she is being benched.

Let's say that things don't go well for the US within the next 2 hours or so (very hypothetical and just food for thought), do you think we could have a Megan Rapinoe vs. Jill Ellis incident like we had Roy Keane vs. Mick McCarthy in 2002?
