Ted Cruz says that police should patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods in the US.

    Better or worse than Trump?

ETA that that Broedderick story has been out there for abut 20 years.

What makes a Muslim neighborhood? There's a Muslim family down the street from me who live next door to traditional Americans. Can we just secure and patrol outside of the Muslim house or will my whole street be secured and patrolled?

to quote HRC - "What does it matter?" Either say it or don't. The Tea Party end of the GOP has been implying it for many years now, so saying it only puts on record what we already know.

This is what's so frickin' batshit crazy about the GOP's extremist "policies" regarding international terrorism on the domestic front.

Muslims are downright successful economically and are NOT ghettoized like they are in Europe. There are scant "Muslim neighborhoods" in the US. I'm assuming that maybe in parts of Michigan???

And the ISIS/Al Qaida funded cells are not streaming across either border. They come in w/ tourist visas b/c they have $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

And it's far more cost effective to recruit online. So your goddamn border walls don't do shit to stop internet recruitment, organizing, training, coordinating, etc.

    The Party of Stupid.

I would add that prisons are a good place to convert and/or radicalize. More prisons! Longer sentences!

I wonder how many white Americans know this. One in ten? Of those people, what percentage are registered Republicans? Surely less than half. Probably more like 25% to 30%.

So in blathering on as if Muslim U.S. is like Muslim U.K. or Muslim France, Ted (and Trump) is gonna get a whole lot more head nods than he will confused looks.

I live in north Jersey. I've been told that the Clifton/Paterson is the second largest concentration of Muslims in the US outside of Dearborn, Michigan.

Why do you need to be told if you live there? Didn't you see them all dancing after 9/11. There were 'thousands' of them dancing in the street. How could you have missed it?

But yes there are a lot of concentrated communities (usually near a mosque), not huge ghettos within the NYC area.

JEB! Gives Cruz kiss of death by endorsing him.

Why did anyone from Cruz' mob think that this was a good idea.

That's it. The GOP will nominate Trump before the convention. If GOP voters who oppose Trump run from Cruz to Kasich, Trump wins. If they stick with Cruz, many stay home and Trump wins.

Let's close up the primary threads and start in on the general.

The New Republic says the same thing, but also points out that a certain GOP frontrunner's relationship to a certain tabloid's CEO gives plenty of reasons to be skeptical.

    https://newrepublic.com/minutes/132...ed-cruz-adultery-allegation-national-enquirer

But there are reasons to be suspicious beyond the usual Enquirer caveats. Donald Trump, who threatened to “spill the beans” about Cruz’s wife on Tuesday, has close ties with The National Enquirer. As New York’s Gabriel Sherman wrote in October of 2015, “Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. ‘They’re very close,’ said a source close to the Enquirer.” Trump was the reportedly the source behind a hit piece on Ben Carson, which claimed the surgeon left a sponge in a patient’s brain and regularly committed malpractice. The Enquirer also went after Carly Fiorina in the fall.
