Because he too is a black (former) Twente left winger?

I highly rate John. He's two-footed, which is a rarity in wingers, he can score and has a great cross, and he's physically strong. We're proud of him, he's been in the Twente academy since he was 10 years old and we hope he does well.

All of that said he's leaving far too young. He's had just one season of first team football in the Dutch league (which is why I think 9 million is A LOT of money) and it's not like he can't improve further at home. I can only hope Benfica gives him a fair chance.

A GK is on Benfica's agenda since Eduardo's loan has ended. Which seems ridiculous, we have Oblak who had a fantastic season at Beira Mar and Julio Cesar at Granada.

17 yr old GK, Bruno Varela, for Benfica Juniors will now play on the Benfica B squad.

Chinese clubs interested in Cardozo.

Gremio, Corinthians, Fluminense, and Vasco all battling to sign Eder Lúis. Vasco offered 3, Benfica wants 5. I don't think this guy got a fair opportunity at Benfica. Only remember seeing him 3 or so times.

This Salvio saga has to end, just sign the kid. He's an amazing talent who has already proved himself, it won't be hopeful spending. Perfect substitute for Gaitan.

1) Buy Salvio.

OFFICIAL: Benfica have signed LB, Luisinho and Hulk wanna-be striker, Michel, from Pacos de Ferreira.

1) Michel is a extremely talented striker. Scored 9 goals last season, has amazing ball control, but the guy is overweight. JJ can whip him into shape like he did Bruno Cesar when he arrived. Like the signing, but Gotdamn we have too many forwards. He's a good alternative for the RM position to sub Salvio, or play in that spot if we don't end up signing him.

2) Luisinho is a decent LB, but will definitely be on the B squad or be the backup for the LB we sign. Benfica is still going to sign either Rojo or Siquiera.

Granada gives Benfica first priority over LB Siqueira out of respect for all the loaned and sold players.
