Liberec suffered a stupid goal at the end of their 3rd round qualifying match in the CL, or else they would have been in it. If Braga can put 4 past a team like this, god knows what they can do

Sporting 3-0 Sp. Braga. Alecsandro w/the hat-trick of lucky tries/shots gave the three points to the lions. The Arsenalistas were missing in this game., even Joao Pinto didn't want to take part in it.

Carvalhal is set to resign from his post, and is a strong possibility for the vacant Beira-Mar seat.

LISBON, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Carlos Carvalhal has resigned as coach of Portuguese Premier League side Braga, club officials said on Wednesday.

Carvalhal, 40, who took over from Jesualdo Ferreira last June, was the sixth managerial casualty in the top flight this season.

His deputy Carlos Garcia will take over coaching duties until a successor is found.

The northern team, which lost 3-0 at Sporting Lisbon on Monday, are eighth in the 16-team standings with 14 points from nine matches.

Last week they beat Slovan Liberec 4-0 in their UEFA Cup group and have a good chance of reaching the knockout stage of the competition.

Carvalhal said he had quit the club for personal reasons.

Braga has been a very inegimatic squad this season. They have a better team than what the standings indicate, but the squad has some major injury issues and perhaps the team just struggled to grasp a new tactic after a couple of years of Jesualdo's command. Either way, they have two weeks before they get back to business, so it'll be interesting to see who they get to replace Carvalhal...

He is a moron good riddance. Only problem is the next replacement will probably be no better.

How the hell did we dump Jesulado Ferreira??? Oh No we didn't make it to the Champions League...well Maybe if we didn't sell all of our players we would of done it  Dumbest President in Portugal is Salvador.

It's going to be an uphill climb but anything is possible...LET'S GO BRAGA!

    • The two sides have never met in European competition.

    • Sevilla boast Portuguese talent in the form of midfielder Sergio Valente. Valente often referred to as Duda, has played in Portugal for Vitória SC and in Spain for Cádiz CF, Málaga CF, Levante UD and now Sevilla.

    • Braga boast Spanish talent in the form of reserve goalkeeper Dani Mallo, who spent several seasons in the Primera División with RC Deportivo La Coruña after emerging from the club's youth ranks.

    • Sevilla have met Portuguese sides five times in European competition, with the first meetings coming in the 1957/58 European Champion Clubs' Cup when they knocked out SL Benfica in the preliminary round, winning 3-1 at home and drawing 0-0 in Lisbon.

    • Braga have never previously come up against Spanish opposition.
