    BREAKING NEWS!!! :D I couldn't resist :D

Braga has been placed in Group C with the following:

    Sevilla (Spain)
    AZ Alkamaar (Holland)
    Liberec (Czech Republic)
    Grasshoppers (Switzerland)

The exact schedule has yet to be determined. Overall, IMO Braga will be contending for the third spot with Liberec. If they can win their two home matches and get a tie on the road, they should be playing UEFA Cup football come March 2007...

IMO Braga has a good chance for 2nd spot, Alkmaar isin't the same as two years ago, and lost a few key players. Braga has proved to be in top form, and plays a good controlling style of soccer. Tough D, good ball controlling mid, and a solid attack, and most important has a lot of depth in just about all positions.

Good luck to Braga, and hope they do well.

I hope we beat Sevilla away that would put us on the map. Last time we played them we won but that was a friendly and then they went on to win the UEFA Cup.

AZ hopefully isn't as strong as they were when they played Sporting but then again they were in the semi-finals and going all out at home after what looked like a fairly easy campaign.

Grasshoppers, I know who they are but they've never done much so we should be able to beat them.

Liberec this is the odd one out. Eastern european teams are heavily on the rise and The Czech republic is no joke so we are facing a team that isn't a 'name' but probably can get the job done.

I am excited hopefully we get that first win with Alkmaar and the rest falls into place.

We'll be facing Inter, CSKA, or Celtic in no time ;)

I know this doesn't mean much cause the entire jornada 6 has just barely started, but as of right now, Sp. Braga is on top of the league.

It won't be long before they are up there by themselves.

They are by themselves, but w/ one game advantage.

    BEIRA-MAR-SP. BRAGA, 0-3 (Paulo Jorge 2', Wender 57' e R. Chaves 71')

yea but tecnically they aren't in first because the other teams still need to play. i ment that they will alone in first with out having a game advantage.

It's not a case of semantics. You can say it and be 100% correct. They are in first place right now, alone. The other teams can win lose or tie tomorrow or Sunday, and it does not affect what is happening right now. By Sunday night, it may be a different story.:)

Damn at work and I missed the whole game, which might not of been such a bad thing. I hope it wasn't a 3-0 pounding although to lose by 3 anytime is just crap.

Sporting also lost to AZ away, we get No return leg to work magic in so we need to take care of Liberec and Grasshoppers at home and hope that we get atleast a draw with Sevilla away to progress

Braga certainly weren't bad. AZ worked hard for the win.

But when Braga were 1-0 down and decided to take a more attacking approach, AZ got more space. After the 2-0 Braga were a bit lost and 5 minutes later it was 3.

AZ away is a difficult game, especially in UEFA competition. Even though they don't play the same furious battering ram game they did under Adriaanse, they're slick passers and attackers.

Wow, a 3-0 defeat for Braga in their UEFA Cup group phase start. Tough break. Also, were both Hugo Leal and Wender subbed out due to injury? If so, looks like Braga lost more than just the match. A win against Liberec on November 2 at home is a must for Braga to think about proceeding to the Round of 32...

Holloween special . Maritimo scares Braga. A blow out.

    SP. BRAGA-MARÍTIMO, 1-4 (Cesinha 84').

Maritimo lead 0-4 until Cesinha scored on the 84 minute.

One player from each team saw the red card.
