Sounds like Zawadzki is moving into a CM role. Works for me.

    Move into the midfield, OK.

Replace what Nagbe did, just not possible.

If Z is a CM, that means Moreira will be a traditional CB (not ideal), and one of Cheberko or Camacho will be the other CB (not ideal). If Moreira and Camacho start, that has to be the oldest CB duo in the league (not ideal) in a system that requires running (not ideal).

It might be a back 4 nominally with the RB or LB staying at home. Then one of Arfsten or Farsi would be nominally at LM or RM.

I think there is less demand on the CBs as they have a two player screen in front of them. I would be concerned if they were pushed all the way into the middle of the oppositions half as part of the press, but it doesn't seem like that is what CBs in his system do. We shall see though.

You may be right, but that's not really what that said.

    The post said:
    1) Crew need to replace Nagbe's ability to break the press (Captain Obvious).

    2) Zawadzki is a potential leader and a guy he will use a lot.

    3) Other leaders: Moreira, Ali, Rossi.

Yes the Head Coach talked about differences and that was one of them. I think this means Malte is LWB and not a CB. Zawadzki is a lock at CB to me but who starts with him is interesting should be Moreira and as long as he has freedom to push up like Nancy gave it’s great. Farsi at RWB and you can put Arfsten up top or LM. Herrera can play RM or RWB

    4231
    GK Schulte
    LWB Amundsen
    LCB Zawadzki
    RCB Moreira
    RWB Farsi
    CM Chambost
    CM Bangoura
    LW Arfsten
    CAM Picard
    RW Rossi
    ST Abou Ali

    442
    GK Schulte
    LWB Amundsen
    LCB Zawadzki
    RCB Moreira
    RWB Farsi
    LM Arfsten
    CM Chambost
    CM Bangoura
    RM Herrera
    ST Abou Ali
    ST Rossi

Either way how does Gazdag earn a start ?

I think Zawadzki at Cm can work but not his best position he needs a CB partner who is taller than Moreira long term.

If Moreira is not a CB i don’t see how this works with him Farsi and Herrera. You can use them by doing a rotation 3 guys for two spots on right side. Also if Cheberko is gone Moreira has to be a CB until we get one if we want the best XI on the pitch.

very interesting to see the formation and position changes and how it all shakes out. Would be nice to see these preseason games and see how the players are being used it will tell us a lot.

Arfsten plays LB (LWB) for the nats. There will be a lot of pressure to have him play a similar role for the crew so that the Crew can claim a USMNT WC player on their roster (at which point they will likely immediately sell him)

Arace did another interview with Henrik. Sound mixing needs work, but we hired another Nancy https://open.spotify.com/episode/0z...B-6A971qSluW_3LW3WpP8A&t=672&pi=EuxegZxKSK-63

Really great comments about his dead where he talks about his lifestyle and values. Hes open about where taha and sean will play. Taha will be anywhere in the midfield, and Sean is more of a CB in a back 3 who can push up. Rudy is ready but with his injury and age, he cannot play too too much

We will start the season in a back 3. He said, "he's not stupid," if he had a 3 month preseason, then hed might switch us to a back 4.

The lineup graphic person will have their work cut out for them.

So is this a not-so-subtle swipe at some guy taking over a team in midseason in a league he knows little about and demanding that everyone change everything immediately because he's a bloody genius and you're not?

Or do I have that wrong?

FWIW, since Nancy was sacked, Celtic's record is 8 wins and 2 draws and they're through to the knockout phase of the Europa League.
