From the SoccerAmericaDaily E-mail: Now should Suarez cut ties with BA and see if he be able to get into the Uruguay NT? Personally I don't want him to, but with Bruce in charge it's unlikely that Suarez will cap for the US.
Personally, I'm sick of listening to players complain about their playing time with the nats. What ever happened to letting your play do the talking? Do whatever's best for you with whatever national team you want. But what's the point of bitching about it in the press? It couldn't have anything but a negative effect on your chances and it looks petty. Enough.
Doesn't sound like he's bitching to me. He was asked a question and answered it. He's about the last guy on the Dallas Burn that would bitch in the press.Every one wants to know whats on these guys mind and needs all the info they can get. So when you do get info you say the guy's bitchin??Sounds like you are the one bitchin ,guy.
Maybe I am the only one bitching. It just irritates me to hear this kind of talk. My main objection to Ryan's comments is that I don't want anyone on our team to come across like that mincing fairy Daniel Hernandez. That's all.
Re: Re: Ryan Suarez: USMNT situation. i dont get why people are worried. so he didnt get in any matches and get a cap, neither did brian dunseth from the crew. he will get his time, dont worry. just b/c he was in a camp for a few games and never saw any game action doesnt mean he isnt in the equation for a later time...patience...
It's my understanding that Suarez wouldn't be cap-tied to the U.S. if he played for the USMNT in a run-of-the-mill friendly. Doesn't he have to play for them in a FIFA tournament (i.e. CONCACAF Gold Cup; Confederations Cup; WC Qualifier; etc) in order for him to be cap-tied to the U.S.?
yep, you are correct...he would have to play in the gold cup and confed cup this summer if he were to be cap-tied this year.
I was under the impression that he would only have to play one game in a FIFA sanctioned event. Does he have to play in more than one game to be cap tied?
I thought his quotes were very diplomatic. He said he would prefer to play for the US so that's good. He also didn't rule out playing for Uruguay if nothing happens with the US. Can't blame him for that. I don't see how he was whining or complaining. He was asked a question and answered it in a way that was in no way inflamatory. And btw, comparing him to Dunseth? Please. Dunseth is a decent back but he is nowhere near Suarez in terms of talent.
We finally got to hear the lame excuse Arena put up for not using him, at all, over a series of games. I wanted to go with experience. What a crock. Ryan, do what you like, but you don't have to be jacked around by Arena.
Why would he be making lame excuses? He knows that he has to keep winning to keep that job. It's a job he is obviously enjoying. Eventually, Bruce HAS to put the best team possible together. Ryan has NO Nat'l team experience at ANY level. He needs time to get used to this level and to make the adjustments to his game to play at that level.
What link did you find this at? And correct me if I'm wrong. Did Taylor Twellman and Nick Garcia received their 1st cap for the U.S.?
It is a boon to have so much time before the next WC. Maybe Ryan can adjust his game in this time... maybe he doesn't need to... but, in any case, it sure would be nice to see him get to that 'next level'... be it with USMNT, OR Uraguay. I'll always wish him well.
