http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sports/sp...subsection=soccer&thesecondsubsection=general The All Whites will be the first national team worldwide to wear the new strip, which has been designed following consultation with New Zealand captain Ryan Nelsen and other team members.
Nike amazes me. Everytime I think that they can't possibly make an uglier jersey, they manage to do just that. Yuck.
At least now you can switch on the TV and instantly figure out who is sponsored by Nike, the team in the butt ugly look alike uniforms.
New Jersey? How does this jersey differ from the ones worn by the US, Holland etc... It looks like the same shirt to me. Admittedly I am not up the latest Nike products innovations.
Re: New Jersey? It doesn't except in color. This is the Nike way of doing things for national teams. So, when they have a bad design, the whole world suffers along with us. Half of the elite teams in the world look like European road signs.
A couple of points from this article: I know news is a little slow getting to NZ sometimes, but every other freakin' Nike national team has already played in their unis, including the US, the Dutch, Brazil, etc. And why the heck haven't we heard of this Maia Jackman before?
Yeah! And if they're the "All Whites", then why is the jersey BLUE? Huh? So the people at Nike are color blind too.
its also a good thing that Argentina doesnt wear that nike ******** either i am sad because now many national team kits have lost their originality that is why adidas will always kick nike's ass in making soccer uniforms
Re: New Jersey? And Mexico. Shouldn't Nike, at least, come up with a couple of variations so that when teams sponsored by Nike play each other, they can not come out on the field looking like fraternal twins, dressed almost like, but not quite. It was really wierd watching the US play Mexico with each team wearing the same damn uniform.
Re: New Jersey? Im a huge minamalist, sort of obessive compulsive, so I think having these streamlined uni's are kind of cool.
Of course, you can always go and buy a France, and Germany jerseys and then confuse them with your new DC United jersey. while I like the new adidas kits, they do the same cookie cutter thing that Nike does.
So what was Nike's consultation with Nelsen actually like? "Ryan, do you like these? Because you're getting them whether you like them or not." "Um, OK."
