Looks like Ryan got a runout recently in a match between the 2. teams of Arminia Bielefeld and Sportfreunde Siegen. http://zaffi.vfbkirchhellen.de/presseberichte/15.html It's a short article. Can anyone translate? It's the second bit from the top.
Translation: The 24 year old US boy Ryan Coiner, new detected by [Coach] Walpurgis, developed special bad luck in finishing. After eight minutes he failed with a shot within the movement against goalie Wolff, who also stopped him after a fine solo run after the break. Also, the man from Los Angeles aimed a little bit too high with a shot and a header. "Everything worked well, just a pity that I did not score", mourned Coiner. In yesterday's shape the American surely is an enrichment for the DSC play. He also played last weekend btw. You found a good site, www.zaffi.de is the no.1 source for Oberliga Westfalen. In the section "Alle Oberligaspieler" you will find all names of players with playing time, including Norkus, Lukin and Maurer (didn't check for other YAs) That's him, coming from the USD Toreros, first round draft by the Portland Timbers in 2003: http://www.sportsmediainc.net/usdtoreros/index.cfm?func=showarticle&newsid=6614
Thanks, olafgb. Yep, the club's website says he's played in their last two matches. However, he's not listed as a member of the senior or second teams at the moment, nor is he listed as one of the the "Zugange". As a result I can't tell if he's a trialist or on the team...
No, he's a 'real player', that's serious D4 competition, he couldn't play there if being a trialist. The club is first ranked right now btw. Started winning like crazy, but are without win since weeks - in Gütersloh we are used to this effect as Walpurgis coached FCG last season and we started with 45 pts in 17 games before playing an awful second season half.
Great to hear of a Coiner siting. Used to watch him with USD (if this is the same guy) fairly often. Hopefully he'll knock one or two in the ol' onion bag in the near future. So, is this Division 4? I can't quite make it out where this is.
