I honestly didn't see anything wrong with it. From what I saw, it looked like Ruud was trying to trap and drag the ball. Cole came in very quickly and the just managed to knock the ball away. To fine or charge anyone for what wasn't even a 50/50 (as Ruud still had possession) is a complete joke. Especially considering some of the stuff Denis "Watch my elbows/studs" Bergkamp has gotten away with.

But we know you're a twat of the highest order. So why would anyone "honestly" care what you think?

Unsuprisingly rubbish. van Nistelrooy was moving towards the ball as was Cole, he looks up at him to see him approaching and then instead of shielding the ball, he intentionally raises his leg and drives it down into Cole's knee & shin. The ball is well beneath him at his point and the motion he made towards Cole can not be reasonably argued to be an attempt to drag the ball back. It's blantant.

As for your defense that "no-one" thought it was deliberate, what utter rubbish, every major media out-let has condemned him for his antics.

Bitter complaining? So why is exactly is this staunch United supporter making similar remarks?

Ruud's knee was up by his chest as he went to stomp on Cole's shin! Also, the linesman was standing right next to the play. If the positions were switched, Cole would have been sent off for sure.

Honestly, do you think your "views" amount to jack squat given your past posts on this board? Are you insane?

How long will it take for the FA to come to some conclusion?

Do you mean how long will it take them to acquit him and apologize for wasting his and his manger's time?

I've just seen the incident again on Sky News, if you examine it closely you'll see that van Nistelrooy catches Cole square, just above Cole's knee with the stud on his heel. That potentially could have done serious damage if he hit the kneecap directly.

when it first happened i did not think RvN did anything wrong, then when I saw the replay everyone, including my Man Utd friends, thought Ruud should've gotten something.

how about when he pushed Jens down?

but then again didn't Jens do that to Ronaldo, out of bounds last year, did he get anything for that?

Yeah, I thought that was funny when Ruud threw Jens down. I also thought it was funny when Jens did it to Ronaldo last year. There is always something with these two teams.

seriously, I thought he should've been booked, but then I remembered when he did it to Ronaldo and I could not remember if her got booked

did you watch the game at The Globe? It was a pretty good atmosphere, more Gunners that Utd supporters, but a good number of Utd supporters.

Bluto, I stayed at home and watched the game. Last year when I went to Ginger's for the Arsenal match I almost got into a fight after Ruud missed the penatly and the melee broke out at Old Trafford. I got a little fired up so I thought it would be better to stay at home. I bet it was a good atmosphere though.

Also, they are still deciding what to do about the soup and Wenger's comments...

What is the story with the soup and sandwiches incident. I read something on soccernet.com, but it does not give much detail. It sounds quite humorous.

There are so many variations from different sources, I don't know what to make of it. This is probably the case with the FA as well. One story said that an Arsenal source claimed that it was a sandwich, and not soup, and it was thrown accidently. Yes, "thrown accidently" are the words they used.

There were no fights at the bar. Some guy in an old Giggs Utd shirt cam storming out the back singing Glory Glory Man Utd in a thick accent. I was not going to mess with him.

Some English Gooner took in the game at the Lucky Bar and started singing Osama Bin Laden chants after they went down 2-0... he tried to pick a fight with one of my mates too who is from Manchester. He was embarrased that a countryman would sing something like that...

the posse of Lucky, Farra and Gary would've had my back :)

actually it wasn't soup, just an empty bottle of Heineken Dark. Jamie would not have been happy. He did ask me on the way out if I was going to kick my dog. :(

i sat there and watched the Bears until 2 PM. I couldn't go home because there was an open house at my house. I was in shock and didn't really talk to anyone.
