dunno if this is more smoke and mirrors but... http://msn.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,7-1122813,00.html
Well you can be sure the Ruud rumour is absolute nonsense... and it makes no sense for Arsenal to sell Henry... I think however its a good way to veil their interest in their real target.... Totti.... Think about it, Madrid already have Ronaldo and Raul... none of whom will ever sit on the bench, so another striker would be pointless. However, Figo and Zidane will not be around forever so I could see a midfielder going there... However, I think if I were them, I would throw a bunch of money at Ballack (nedved if possible, but he wont leave Juve)
I can imagine the conversation would go something like this: Real Madrid: "Hello, Man Utd, we're interesting in acquiring Ruud van Nistelrooy." Man Utd: "Well, you can have him... for 300m pounds..." (hysterical giggling in the background. Real Madrid: "Err... you haven't got the # for Liverpool FC, have you?" Three months later... "Real Madrid is proud to announce Michael Owen as the newest Galactico. We feel that he is the best striker in the world... *cough*except for the 8 others we couldn't get *cough* that we don't already have."
LoL sig. Yeah, Madrid are insane if they really want to throw 70 Million (the lowest I could see either Henry or Ruud moving for) for another striker... Which 30+million signing do they sit? They certainly can't afford to sit a defender... Do they want to play 3-4-3? You score four but we'll score six.
It has been reported at they are definatley going to buy one of 4 players. The last one being Michael Owen. I'd probably say he is the safe bet as I can't see him staying at those scally ***** for much longer. PS. I really should read the whole thread before I post.
Well if they play another striker they will be playing a 2-5-3 because as it is Roberto Carlos only has a P.O. Box located at left back but only drops in to check his mail ocassionally... Their current formation is a 4-4-2 but Carlos streaks up the left wing allowing the left midfielder (usually Zidane) to move more to the center, where he is more effective, comfortable and less exploited by his lack of pace
