Good at times, at other times average. Defense was questionable again, especially Shennikov.'

Arshain came on towards the 60th btw and was booed every time he had the ball.

He'll never live down those comments, at least not till he does something special on the pitch... which he may not.

Well he's not the first Russia player to get booed. Although in Zhirko's cae it was a small, but vocal, group of fans.

u-21. Russia 4 - 1 Poland. Real Madrid's Denis Cheryshev with two goals and an assist.

Now Russia has to beat Moldova at home to secure qualification.

    Check out the last goal.

Yeah you did, you claim he's Spanish cause that is where he has developed. Now when he does good you want him to play for Russia?

No you're talking about Mrkel, the Kazakh-German who wanted to play for Russia before.

Never once did I say that Cheryshev was Spanish, I honestly only heard of him a couple of months ago when Real played some friendly. As far as I know he's been in Spain for about three years.

He's a son of Former player Dmitri, who played in Spain.

He was born in Russia but has been developed by the Spaniards.

Russia beats N. Ireland 2-0. Pitch condition was poor as was the crowd. Why they placed this game in Moscow is beyond me, and to top it off the u-21 game in Yekaterinburg saw a better crowd.

Portugal came back to beat Luxembourg 2-1 and Azerbaijan tied Israel at home 1-1.

Arshavin's loss is a big one for Russia, say what you want about him but he has that extra class that no other Russian player has had in the last 8 years.

Some lovely bunkering by Russia and we're now clear at the top.

u-21's b eat the Czechs in the first leg 2-0 (away) and are pretty much good to qualify.

Nice wins. Hopefully they continue to play well.

Good game by he youngsters also. There are several talented players there that might be regulars with the senior team. Hopefully they develop.

Watched the official Euro2012 review and couldn't help myself, had to chime in.

Epic campaign for Russia, played brilliant to open the group, got a result in the 2nd game with Poland, then just needing a draw just like in 2002 World Cup to advance, they choke. That retarded mistake by Ignashevitch, heading the ball into the greek players path for a clear go at goal before halftime was hilarious lol. Classic Russia, epic collapse.

Even more ridiculous was the fact that Russian fans immediately after that embarrassing loss were still chanting Rossiya, Rossiya lol the awkwar laughing stock of Euro's everywhere we went. Some of the most embarrassing public behavior I've ever seen in my life tbh the DVD brought back all of those memories lol
