This is from the Washington post https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...tel745p:homepage/story&utm_term=.80685bda65f2 A senior U.S. official with access to the document said that the allegations were presented at least in part to underscore that Russia appeared to have collected embarrassing information on both major candidates but released only material that might harm Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton — a reflection of Russian motivation that bolstered U.S. spy agencies’ conclusion that Moscow sought to help Trump win ---- Seems to me that CNN is accurate in their reporting but Buzz feed may have been had with disinformation.
The NYT says that the British spy who put together the Trump allegation memos (the improbably named Christopher Steele) was, quote, "the top expert on Russia at the London headquarters of Britain’s spy service, MI6." https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/11/...p-russia-intelligence.html?smid=tw-share&_r=0 Seems like the kind of guy who would have some pretty good sources, if so. Of course, without corroboration there's no way of knowing how well-informed or truthful those sources might have been in this particular case.
Just because what else would you expect, Steele worked with the FBI on ties between the Russian mafia and FIFA. No, but seriously, who is writing this unbelievable shit.
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-u...s Now 2017-01-12&utm_term=US Reuters News Now Detailed article about Christopher Steele. He was hired by Jeb!'s superpac to do oppo on Trump. (Or not. Read the article.) He was working with the FBI for a long time but cut off contact with them a month before the election because he was frustrated with the slow pace of their work. ******** Comey.
From that article: "However, they said the bureau shifted into low gear in the weeks before the election to avoid interfering in the vote. They said Steele grew frustrated and stopped dealing with the FBI after concluding it was not seriously investigating the material he had provided." In light of the Weiner server letter, WTF? Another one that adds the detail that "he was the MI6 case officer for former KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko, who was fatally poisoned with radiation in 2006 after seeking asylum in the United Kingdom." http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...p-dossier-author-real-life-james-bond-n706376
This is damning if true: pic.twitter.com/xzOLovftNl— Nope. (@JoyAnnReid) January 14, 2017 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If true, it will break the US.
More likely we'll just get outraged by the next preposterously evil/stupid thing they do and then lose the next election.
