Robbie Russell goes 90 for Sogndal in a 3-1 win over TROMSØ . He is rated a 4 by VG which is not so good. This puts Sogndal in 1st place in Norway's top division, at least until tomorrow when Rosenburg plays. Norway gets 1 CL spot and 3 UEFA Cup spots. (However unlikely that may be)
russel gets a "6" from Dagbladet with 7 being the highest awarded. the average for Sogndal was 6.1 according to Dagbladet. Russel isn't mentioned in any of the write ups. He played defense from the alignment mentioned here. Sogndal is a suprise at the top of the table, they weren't previewed as a top team in most publications. Norway has a fairly strong record in European play. RBK regularly gets along fairly far in the CL and some of the other teams have won some games in the EUEFA cup.
I didn't mean to imply that Norway's record in Europe was not good because it is, esp. RBK. I was commenting on the unlikely event of Sogndal playing in Europe.
I'm going to have all season to get a chance to see Russell play. Moving to Norway in two weeks. When is he due to roll into Oslo?
I'm not all that familiar with Norwegian teams, but I think Vålerenga is in Oslo where he plays on May 4. Which is only a week away.
the two tippeligen teams in Oslo are Lyn and Vålerenga. Odd is in Drammen which is very close to Oslo.
