Do I feel like creating a thread for an abomination of a football club that wants to take over the Bundesliga.
Have to say, I find the story of RB Leipzig absolutely fascinating. It's easy to hate on a corporation trying to take over something steeped in tradition, but at the same time with East Germany not having any Bundesliga teams for so many years, plus the fact that Bayern's dominance has been so complete and so boring, I kinda want to see them pull it off.
They're really fun to watch too. Just tremendous intricate passing controlling the game against Freiburg today.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...fairy-tale-in-which-the-bad-guys-are-winning/ is titled "RB Leipzig’s Bundesliga debut is like a fairy tale in which the bad guys are winning."
"...a fairy tale in which the bad guys are winning." - Isn't that pretty much the story of 2016 as a whole?
Still not a big fan of the "club" and the organization behind it but love how they treat young players and their kind of playing. Been watching them live against Schalke and loved the Stadium and the athmosphere before and whilst the game
As of February 2nd, 2017 the top 3 clubs are Bayern, Leipzig & Frankfurt with Hoffenheim in 5th. Both Leipzig and Hoffenheim are new to the dance through billionaires' investment. Both clubs haven't spent like Manchester City and clubs like them. So, what's the magic? Is it investment in younger, talented players?
I am looking to watch a game in Berlin weekend of 25th March and need some advice on which teams to watch? I know it is international games but assume even a semi pro team will have a game, do you know of any berlin teams by any chance? Gareth
Down to 5th division and also on youth level there are no matches due to internal games. Though there are 6th division matches (amateur level): http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/amateure/berlin-liga-fb-1/2016-17/22/0/spieltag.html BW 90 Berlin - SC Staaken is the top match on Sunday 26th
I am a red bull NY, back before Red Bull bought them. I have always been a lukewarm Bunda fan. Preferring to support BvB because my family is Ghanaian and they did have a Ghanaian on the team. But I am changing to Leipzig because I love their story. They are not some horrible Club that found a sugar daddy like Chelsea or City. They were a nothing Club, that was invested in and built up and for that they should be celebrated, especially since the East Germans have no team in the Bunda 1 division
Did RB Liepzig signed Yvon Mvogo from BSC Young Boys? How many goalkeepers does this team really need?
https://sbisoccer.com/2018/07/report-jesse-marsch-nearing-role-with-rb-Leipzig appears Jesse Marsch may be heading to RB Leipzig after all. Marsch is close to leaving NYRB to join up with the Bundesliga club. it’s unclear what role Marsch would take with the club
Ives GalarcepVerified account @SoccerByIves 45m45 minutes ago RB Leipzig announces Jesse Marsch as part of Ralf Rangnick’s staff, on a two-year deal, meaning he will stay on staff even after Julian Nagelsmann takes over the top job for the 2019-2020 season. Big opportunity for the American coach.
Need help please! Hi all, I'm currently researching globalisation, commercialisation and fan culture and I'm specifically looking at Red Bull and the RB Leipzig 'project'. I would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to help me out. It's safe to say the RB Leipzig 'project' has been fairly successful so far, especially since the teams promotion to the Bundesliga. However, from my understanding the club is unpopular amongst fans within and outside of the Bundesliga. RB Leipzig has also recently entered into a cooperation with SC Paderborn which has been protested by SC Paderborn fans (see here https://www.dw.com/en/bundesliga-pa...oycott-over-rb-leipzig-cooperation/a-49073501) This has got me thinking about the social, cultural and economic impacts of Red Bulls takeover of RB Leipzig. So I have decided to undertake a research project on the topic on these two questions; "What do you think of Red Bulls ownership of RB Leipzig?" and "What do you think Red Bulls impact is on football for both the Bundesliga and football more generally?" I think this is a great opportunity for us to look into the impacts and we could potentially uncover future trends within football concerning 'multi-club ownership' and corporations. Your responses will be used in my research project (I will make it available for everyone to see) and kept anonymous. But, if you'd like, I'd be more than willing to cite you. If you would like to find out more about my research please contact me! Thanks everyone!
