Looks like Rummy is doing his thing, trying to rally support for president Hamid Karzai. I sure hope we bolster our guys in Afghanistan, to let them know that we still have work to do in Afghanistan, and that we haven't forgotten that they fight and die there even today. Things are better than they have been though, as taliban an AQ operatives can't even hide in Afghanistan any more. They live in Pakistan, and then cross into Afghanistan.

    An intersting situation

    I guess liberals don't give a ************ about Afghanistan.

    Afghanistan is very important.

It will take decades to rebuild- Do we have the patience?

No it's not, there's no oil there.;)

I think there may be an argument that Afganistan is more important strategically than Iraq. It's snuggly between two nuclear Islamist states. We need for Afganistan to get out of the stone age and help keep an eye on its nuclear neighbors.

The "problem" with us "liberals" is we don't think the administration is too devoted to this project.
