Rumors are flying quickly about U2 doing a "secret" concert this coming Monday, November 22nd, in New York City. The location is hotly tipped to be Washington Square Park. This is from www.atu2.com
It's Brooklyn, for MTV. I small amount of tix for the general public can be had here: http://www.1iota.com/
wow..my sister goes to NYU...if it was in Washington Square that would be awesome...and for the recrod, i dont know which park/square is which nayways...
It's Empire Fulton Ferry State Park in Bk: http://www.gothamist.com/archives/2004/11/22/u2s_free_concert_in_brooklyn_today.php If you're not lucky enough to get a ticket, you could, maybe, look down on the concert from Brooklyn or Manhattan Bridge. It's a nice park, btw. Great view of East River and the two bridges.
If you scroll down to the comments section, you can pretty much track their movement downtown: http://www.gothamist.com/archives/2004/11/22/u2s_free_concert_in_brooklyn_today.php My guess is that their truck will take them to one of the piers downtown, and they'll arrive at the park on boat. Can't wait to see this on TV. Too bad I'm on 6th Avenue - looks llike they drove down just one avenue away.
Well that was fun. I showed up without a ticket and got in anyway, great to see them with the backdrop of the bridge and the skyline. They opened with 'Vertigo', then a bunch of tunes from the new album into 'Beautiful Day' and 'I Will Follow'. Encore: 'Out of Control' and 'Vertigo'(again).
