According to @tonysanneh and several credible sources on Twitter.

Timmy is finished with USA Soccer and has used us to open the eyes of Joachim Löw.

    Ugh

Kid really needs to make up his mind. Both nations are going to tire of this quickly. Just choose one and stick with it so the other can move on already.

Only thing that's confirmed is that Löw is visiting Nürnberg today. It's entirely possible Chandler says "no."

A not so subtle hint to JK that he is a Right back, not left.

He clearly knows he is the best RB in our rotation so to play LB is not viable. If anything, Dolo should be on the left.

I thought we were done with these rumors. I'm sure Löw already has favorites at Timmy's position and if I'm not mistaken, Chandler has already publicly said he doesn't want to play for Germany.

This thread should get awesome with lots of hate at Chandler, Klinsmann and Sunil.

Re: Rumor: Timmy Chandler now Repping Germany

why? If Chandler accepts this, by all accounts it was his club and german federation that approached him because he played well for the US. It is annoying that we lost him, but the kid grew up and developed in Germany. I've no doubt he'd rep the US well cause he's awesome, but he's not turning that down. Germany is his home. Unlike, you know Rossi. WAIT WHAT??? Who said that?

Klinsi? WTF. Klinsi's pimping for Chandler so for so long and so hard. Yea

Gulati is a terrible ussf president, which you obviously cannot see, but he has nothing to do with this

    The real culprit is....

FIFA. Goddamit they shoulda arranged for a special qualifying match against Barbados again after the gold cup so we could cap all our uncapped dual-nationals

It does kind of suck that we don't have any games for a while that would cap tie any players. Didn't Timmy already do a FIFA one time switch which would make him a yank no matter what?

I believe Jones made the one-time switch. Chandler was never officially capped by Germany, or the US for that matter.

I'll give you a little credit. I've come to expect irrational, emotional repsonses on Big Soccer.

Fabian Johnson made the switch too... at least that's something.

    :(

I hope this just stays a rumor...

Title change. This is looking less and less concrete.

Re: Rumor: Timmy Chandler now Repping Germany

Actually, he never talked about wanting or not wanting to represent Germany in German media. He wasn't even asked anyway. That might change after the Bild Article, so expect to hear something from him in the next days and then you'll know for sure.

Why? Some players tend to tell the media of country X different things than the media of country Y. What they want to hear. If he suddenly opens the door to Germany in the German media, then one can start to worry. But he hasn't done that yet.

I don't believe in the rumour that Löw visited him. Sounds unrealistic to me and just a panic rumour because of the Bild article. If Löw and Chandler really were already meeting, Bild would have written their article in a completely different way.

I'm still sure Chandler will play for the USA.

Tony Senneh isn't a nobody. And I think Grant Wahl would have at least checked in with Senneh.

I think that Chandler will play for us. But to act like there is no contact between the DFB and Chandler is naive.

Re: Rumor: Timmy Chandler now Repping Germany

what a weird situation we got here. Tony Sanneh should know his stuff considering the club, but then Jogi Lowe says he didn't talk to Chandler.

I mean you can see why there's concern, I didn't really buy into the Gold Cup conspiracy, but there is very likely a tiny part of Chandler holding out for the Germany call. When's their next match?

October 7, I think, is their next cap-tie date.

The kid's something special. I doubt he's been completely off of Low's radar. Hopefully we can hold on to him.

no cap tie dates until an official game, which is WC qualifying, I believe.
