I dunno. One of the things that got Galaxy fans all hot and bothered last season was that we could see all the ready-made ability in Ned. He wasn't a project, a Memo - he was often the engine for our team when our veterans were falling apart. He just seems like he could be a franchise player wherever he goes, and we want to keep him in L.A. For some reason, though, the minute Steve Sampson came in, a lot of people said "oh well, too bad, looks like we're gonna lose Ned".

Maybe, but with Armas around they've been playing other roles like right mid.

Because Grabavoy is contributing so much right now? Oh, I see. You mean a forward contributing right away to the reserve squad. In that case I can agree that the fire should only get Ned who'll contribute imediately to the reserve team if they're willing to loose a reserve squad impact player like Thorrington or Griffen.

The problem with the Galaxy wanting a forward is that Herron and Reiter are more than a reserve squad players, and I'd think the Fire would hold Chad Barrett in greater regard than Grabavoy even thought he's not had a ton of minutes in the first team. He's just stuck behind too many forward on the depth chart. I'm not sure who's getting minutes at forward on the reserve squad. Will John or Will Johnson perhaps?

I don't care what Chicago wants. I'm only taking about what the Galaxy need right now more than anything else - a forward who can score. If trading Grabavoy can get us that - then I'm all for it. I have no idea why Chicago would want Ned...

Actually, tonight's game was a pretty good example of why a lot of us think pretty highly of Grabavoy.

Agreed. I think Ned was one of the better players on the pitch. However, you can see that many of his mistakes were comfort related. He simply needs to be playing more.

Grabavoy was also partly to blame for the final goal.

He senselessly fouled a NE player to set-up the free kick in the last few minutes.

He looked dead tired though - so mabe Sampson should have pulled him off the pitch.

I just saw the rebroadcast - it was an obstruction call on Ihemelu, not on Grabavoy.

I'm neither a Fire nor Galaxy fan, but in the talk of what would be fair trade for a young, still-untapped player like N.Grabavoy and Galaxy needing a forward with a nose for goal, what about Rolfe to LA?

Why isn't this Thorrington for Grabavoy? Both players go home. Thorrington hasn't broken into the Fire rotation. Grabavoy was mystifyingly dropped from the Galaxy rotation. If I ran the world, this trade would happen, though maybe the Galaxy don't believe in Thorrington enough to do it.

Have you seen Rolfe play this year? He's been awesome, and I think with him the surface has barely been scratched. grabavoy, although clearly talented, is still unproven. It's a bit one sided.

I don't think Thorrington works either, older, less upside and injury prone. Can't get in the Chicago team and very unlikely to oust Cobi in LA.

I do think Grabavoy needs a trade though. What about RSL? Andy Williams is away on Int'l duty and they've lacked creativity all season.

I hope you're trying to be funny, because it really is just that to me and all Fire fans who just read that. Rolfe is one of the top playmakers and scorers that the Fire have right now. There is no way that I see the Fire trading him anywhere for anybody. He has too much raw talent, and like somebody else mentioned, he has not shown us all that he has yet.

I would take Thorrington in a NY minute! Cobi could move up top, which would solve part of our lack of forward problem. Cobi can (and does often) play on the left as well, because Pando hasn't done sh!t for us this season in the goal scoring department. Doug Hamilton, pick up that phone.

That's probably about how long he'd be able to play before he got injured again.

Rolfe and Segares have really good chances to win rookie of the year. Trading away either of them would be retarded as hell.

I'm not sure that would happen...Rolfe is playing extremely well and I am sure the fire would will be keeping him.

Damn, that's right. Nick got "promoted" out of the league, right? Shoot, I guess the Grabavoy for Rolfe trade won't happen....
