I bet you're proud to have such a scumbag cheap shot artist on your team.

I never could understand the need to personally insult someone, a simple evaluation of one's performance is all that is necessary. Of course, the tossing of personal insults is often a reflection of the mindest of the individual making the insult. I can imagine other reasons for your comment, but I see no need to go there.

However, to answer your question, Ruiz's physical play is no different than a number of other players in the league, including Garcia. And, having seen the replay, it is possible Garcia gave Ruiz a bruch with his knee. That does not excuse Ruiz, but the replay also clearly showed Garcia deserves an Academy Award for acting given the minor nature of the elbow vesus his "agony of pain."

Finally, a true fan of the game appreciates a good player, regardless of the team he plays for - in my case I still wish we had Mathis. Of course, based on your comment, I must assume you think Ruiz is not a good player regardless of his abilities and what he accomplished last year.

What? How is he a scumbag? Garcia was the instigator for most of the night. I'll give you the fact that Ruiz flops a lot but his forearm to Garcia(that missed Garcia by the way) was provoked by Garcia. Way to be objective on your name calling.

I will say what I said before: I do not condone Ruiz throwing an elbow, but others in the league, including Garcia, do just the same just as much.

I recommend you look in the mirror before you make any accusations.

Nor could I ever understand the need to NFL-tackle an opposing nation's goalie in an important World Cup qualifier, get away scot-free, pop up minutes later to score the equalizer in injury time, then 2 years later have the nerve to show my face in that very same nation. To each his own, I suppose.

I was going to put an insult with this, but have decided against it.

Ante Razov is much dirtier than ruiz, by the way.

Let's not forget Meola's sending off last season. TM came out with a slide to stop a Ruiz breakaway, touched nothing but air and ball, and had the best view of Riuz gliding through the air like a young horny salmon. I must admit the way Ruiz took off with an arched back and pained look was a thing grace of beauty. Unfortunately the camera angle had a nice 2-3 inch gap between Tony's closest part and Ruiz' uniform.

No tears for Ruiz or any other flopper, latin or otherwise, disgracing this game. Send them all off.

Cheers to Garcia (I'd feel the same way if someone in another jersey did it also) for beating El Flopidito at his own game.

BTW, Ruiz now has as many goals as Brian Kamler. Enjoy watching the Denver game on TV you punk.

If you think Ruiz isn't dishing out what he's been getting, you haven't been watching a lot of (to pick an example entirely at random) Chicago Fire defenders. And if you think Ruiz' dives are uniquely perfidious in MLS, you haven't been watching a lot of (to pick another example entirely at random) Ante Razov.

I am bothered by Fish's diving, and to me that's becoming a serious issue. If he doesn't quit diving, he'll never get a call for the rest of his career. He's got a reputation now, one that's well-earned, and he's going to have to deal with it.

While it's barely acceptable to let Ruiz and defenders both hack each other to pieces, I draw the line when refs buy dives like Garcia's, just because it's Carlos Ruiz. Garcia was willing to look like a cheating punk, because it helped his team win. I've got no problem with Garcia doing that, I'm bothered by refs letting him do it.

I have no trouble with Ruiz being called a cheating diver. Fortunately, he didn't dive when he won MLS Cup for us. But if any defender in MLS is complaining that Ruiz plays too rough and tough for their delicate and elegant play, they should be laughed out of the league.
