Disappointing. Twellman has been great. No doubt. But I think the hardware he'd rather have is available Sunday. Something to share with his teammates.

it doesnt matter, everybody knows, including LA fans, that Twellman has more talent then Ruiz and wont be a one year wonder like Ruiz. Ruiz is a minime of Diallo, and look what happened with him. Twellman will pick up the last MVP award available, 2-0 Revs, Twellman 2 goals.
Twellman is my fave guy.... but... given his knee situation i dont think he will score 2 goals...how is he doing?
For those who say Ruiz' MVP award was absurd, he did score more than 50% of his team's goals (a claim Twellman cannot make at ~46%). As a Revolution fan, I'm partial to Twellman, but I certainly think Ruiz is a fair choice.
That sounds about right. Ruiz is indisputably a great player, and had a brilliant year (except for his game in Foxboro where he couldn't find the net with a searchlight.)
Twellman had a great year. Ruiz had a great year. The award could have gone either way. While I am very happy for Pescadito, I could have accepted the award going to Twellman - who has super credentials as well. I suppose it would have been a bit odd if LA Galaxy had the best record of any team in the regular season and didn't have a single individual award winner. It could happen that way, but it would have been unusual. As to those Rev fans who want to waste time dissing The Fish rather than acknowledging a great player: have fun. I hope your whole Rev team is thinking that way. Let them think, "No need to bother covering Ruiz - he's only a punk diver anyway so how can he hurt us?" Love that mindset.
