Unfortunately it won't be for this weekend's game against the Earthquakes, but Ruiz has gotten 2 Yellow Card cautions in just as many weeks (4/12 in the 71st min and 4/19 in the 75th minute). So if he gets another Yellow Card this week he will have to sit out the Galaxy's game against New England Revolution on 5/10. And because of their bye on the 3rd of May his next game wouldn't be until the 17th against the Burn.

Also another item that I find very interesting is that he is league leader in Fouls Committed with a grand total of 12. The nearest competitor to this crown is the Earthquakes's own Craig Waibel with 8. Now granted Ruiz has played in 3 games but so have many of the Crew and Mike Clark & Brian Maisonneuve are the closest with only 7 FC each.

Ruiz is also the league leader in Offsides as well with 5.

Although the 2002 Regular Season Stats don't seem to be accessible from the mlsnet site, these results from LA's playoff efforts last year should put these dramatic numbers in perspective.

So the question is, will the Head ref this week continue to pick up on Ruiz's fouling and diving that has charted him a course toward Fouls Committed, Offsides, and Yellow Card King of MLS 2003?

    :)

they also show Donovan with only 2 assists when in fact, if i'm not mistaken, he has 3 (2 v. the Rapids (one secondary), another v. the Wizards). i emailed them about it last week (when they showed with one when he had two), but they haven't changed it to get it right.

    am i missing something?

I think i read somewhere they took away his secondary assist on Ching's goal v. Colorado. MLS is getting stricter about this.

Yeah, I got it in some e-mail thing, I think that 90 minute e-mail from MLS or Soccer America, where they changed how they give assists and they took that Ching assist away from him.

What is your source on this and how many did he have? I couldn't find the numbers myself in my search yesterday. I am also curious to see if the Fouls Suffered number look like the 2003 season trend or the Playoffs from 2002 (He has a higher FC/FS ratio this year)

    Thanks!

I don't have a link but it's been written about quite a few times. The next closest to him in fouls committed was still a ways off.
