It looks like RSL is the only team in the league who has not won a game. I wonder how long this streak will last???
This is new... being the worst in a 13 team league... I do not think this team has the winning instinct yet. Somebody else besides Kleiner, Adu, and Cunny has got to put the ball in the net. Yes Mendhi I am talking about you. Also, our set plays are crap, the central midfield is non-existant, and tender is shaky. Kreis has some work to do. I feel sorry for the next fall guy.
I have faith in Kreis. At least he looks like a professional coach by dressing the part with a suit and tie. Ellinger many times looked like he had just dragged himself out of bed.
Note after five games (total for TFC) RSL 3 pts from 3 ties TFC 3 pts from 1 win 1st MLS tiebreaker is win/losses record. We are the bottom of the table and if we do not get consectative wins over the next two weeks, then the play-offs will be out of the question again.
There is no doubt that we are in pretty select company (in the bad sense) based on history to not have a win yet. However, 4 points after 6 matches is far from a death knell to finishing in the top 8 of the league in points. Be watching for an AYL article detailing this point in the next few days.
Even If they lose their next two, they still cannot be written off. That would be 8 games played, leaving 22 remaining. Which would mean less than a third of their games have been played. Still leaving them in a situation to turn the season around and make the playoffs. Obviously, RSL have quickly made this season an uphill climb to the playoffs. But, by no means will making the playoffs become impossible this early in the season. They just need to minimize the mental mistakes and defense communication problems. They could have 3 - 5 moire points without those problems.
That would require him shooting the ball someplace besides directly at the keeper. He's finally starting to get chances.......maybe he needs to learn that you get no extra points for tearing holes in the net - just tuck it in low at the post.
Well, there are own goals and there are own goals. I'd argue that Adu deserves the goal against Colorado. His shot was definitely towards the goal with a decent chance of scoring before being deflected. That is in comparison to Colorado's which was across the goal mouth and had zero chance of hitting the nets without some kind of deflection by another player. In my mind, Adu has one goal on the season and has an assist. More will come in time.
I dont know... watch the replay and it looks pretty clear he is passing that ball to Cunningham... thats what it looked like to me anyway.
At least we are taking points from these games. Ties aren't as good as wins, but they're not as bad as losses. One of the reasons we didn't make the playoffs last year is that we LOST too many games. We didn't have enough points. If we can get on a nice win streak (4 of 6) or something like that, these points we're getting now could be invaluable.
Technically you could but it is unlikely. You figure that you need about 30 points to get in (last year I think the cut off was 29).
