So it's Wed and we still don't have one of these up. Let's start off September the right way with a win!
The team is appearing to be on the right track with a win and draw and two shutouts over the last two games. I'm hoping this is a trend that will continue on and not just be a couple of ok games mixed in a bunch of crap. We'll need all the points we can get to lock into 2nd/3rd and avoid the dreaded play-in game.

Considering the attorney fees DC needs to start paying maybe they would trade DeRo and Deleon for Reynish. I kid.

DC is fighting for a play-off spot in the east, it will take a strong effort by RSL to win this one. RSL could really use a convincing win against a solid opponant like DC. Lots of teams fighting for play-off spots, let this one be the match that turns RSL back into a team to be feared. 3-0 for the good guys, 2 goals by Espy and one for Paulo.
Edit: "yes I know I may be delusional".

NY pulled out a late draw vs DC 2-2. Hopefully they're a little worn out coming here Sat.
3-0 would be amazing georg, I can only hope that comes true.

The key to the game will likely be getting an early goal and playing a full 90 like we care. It'd be nice to get another shutout and put 3-4 in the net.

I'm going to go with 2-1, either we get a late winner 85+ or we start out well in the first half 2-0 and DC gets an early goal in the 2nd and makes us nervous all game as they go for the equalizer.

I'd love to see that because it means we're putting them in the air and not into the first defender.

    Working in RSL's favor:
    - DC is one of the worst road teams in MLS.
    - DC has played a ridiculous number of games recently and is traveling cross-country...they will be tired.
    - The only reason they scored 2 last night is Bill Gaudette is a f--king idiot.

    Working against RSL:
    - I think this latest "resurgence in form" (if you can call 4 points in two games a resurgence) has more to do with playing two crappy opponents than anything else.

Fortunately DC is pretty crappy too, especially on the road. RSL with a close win.

Haven't we all figured out what that means in terms of RSL?
Shitty ass draw thanks to questionable officiating and piss poor defending on both sides

If Espy doesn't start, again, something seriously whacky is going on

Having the college football games tonight should help with the crowd on Saturday. No schedule congestion!

Does anyone know if he's picked up an injury? Or is it just that Paulo is playing better than him at the moment?

No injury (that I know of). He was left home from Philly to rest and get his mind right. Remember he hasn't scored a goal since early May and that needs to change.

I was at the stadium yesterday to exchange some tickets - the place is nearly sold out already
I couldn't get a pair of seats next to each other in my section (14) and couldn't get 3 together pretty much anywhere except the south goal

And therefore the best remedy to pooching free kicks is not taking free kicks, right? Didn't you just say on another thread that if Javi can't hit a decent free kick then he shouldn't be taking them? Can't have it both ways.

Kreis hasn't said, multiple times, that the best way to fix a free kick issue is to keep taking them
He has said, though, that the best way for a forward to get out of a funk is to get more playing time.

I will have it both ways, dammit. Now give me my cake

I think If there has ever been a player who needed a break to get his mind back on track it's Espindola.

    He got that in Philly
My original post was that there is no excuse for him not to start this game.
Yeah, Paulo looked good, but he didn't put the ball in the back of the net either. He had just as good, if not better, chances as Espy and simply couldn't finish.

If this team didn't have Sabo, we'd likely be in a gigantic scoring drought right now.

One thing I've noticed this year compared to years past, is that the midfield scoring is what's letting us down this year. We're still on pace for what Espy/Sabo combined for last year, but what made us so deadly in the last couple of years were goals coming from the midfield or set pieces. I think as a whole our forwards are doing enough work, it's the extreme lack of support that's killing us. We need other players crashing the box or actually pulling the trigger when they're outside the box and wide open. Make the defense have to come out and mark you freeing up some space for the forwards.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^THIS.

I think Espindola is in dire need of a goal.
I think you can see its really frustrating for him.

I think that once espi scores a goal he is going to get hot and not be able to stop scoring. Its going to be amazing!

Espy just had a kid (well his significant other did...)
which means he likely hasn't been scoring much lately in many regards.
    poor dude
