So RSL is young and lacking high end players and is one of the hottest sides in MLS. SKC, young and lacking high end players and ... not that.

The preview shows two sides that appear to kind of doing the same things. We've averaged 46.3 percent in possession, they're at 45.3 percent.

The rest of the stats tilt their way. Jake Davis insightfully summed up playing in Sandy with "It's a tough place to play.

Apologies if this is a repost. the game thread was not showing up for me.

Capita is in but will not travel for this match, so next week maybe a cameo?
    Borges could play.
Bassong is apparently ready to go, as is Reynolds

If SKC avoids the spoon, it'll be because of Joveljic.

Bartlow had a horror show in the first half and was rightfully yanked.

Every week, the announcers have the stat on the screen that jovelic doesn't have a lot of touches and they talk about how that shows he isn't effective, and every week, despite that, he proves that he's total class and does not need more than a few touches to impact a game.

Bartlow, just a disaster show. Reynolds, a disaster show. Harris, wow that was not good. Manu had his worst game of the season, time with SKC.
    We're simply a bad team.
Jovelic is amazing. He's gonna score 20 goals with a team that might not score 30.

That was a pathetic showing from SKC. RSL pushed them around like a bunch of pick up players. I didn’t think there was any way the new SKC would make me regret the firing of Vermes. Congrats to RSL, they look really good and will probably make a strong contender for the conference championship.

Nothing this team does will make me regret firing PV. It needed to happen. Full stop. Let’s give the new regime another window. I was pleased with the first window.

Very true and I agree. It's just partially due to MLS rules and partially, most likely, down to the people we did end up hiring, but... Not many soccer leagues in the world can you just have a season with barely even a squad and just limp along and be fine.

What's disappointing with being beaten so thoroughly by RSL is that they had all of our issues, and navigated them perfectly. They have a squad that probably has a very similar payroll, but a lot more bang for their bucks. They're actually younger than us, but their youth is all hitting.
They are us, but a much better version.

I forgot to note that while we had to replace something like 17 players, they had to replace 11, which is also really difficult, but they seemed to have nailed almost all of their signings
