https://www.rsl.com/news/real-salt-...diano-for-2025-concacaf-champions-cup-kickoff That says round one is in Costa Rica 2/18-20. https://www.concacaf.com/champions-cup/schedule-results/ That says game 1 can start as early as 2/4, but the second leg has to be done by 2/27. RSL is supposed to be home after wrapping up pre-season on 2/13. First week of MLS play is 2/22-23. Is RSL starting the year with 3 games in about 8 days?
I did 10 minutes of Wikipedia work on Herediano. In last year's C'caf CC, they beat Toluca in the opening round, a team from Suriname (!) in the round of 16, and lost to the eventual champions Pachuca in the quarter. Seems like the kind of team MLS sides underestimate at their peril. Plus, maybe Cubo Torres plays for them now?
Yep. https://www.rsl.com/news/2025-real-...p-schedule-against-costa-rican-side-herediano 19th in Costa Rica and 26th at the RioT.
I vaguely remember him, but I think more for Costa Rica v USMNT in the early 2000s. I think he was on the way out of being a really good player when he joined RSL. He joined RSL in the summer window of 2006. He played in 8 games, started 1. He played all of 192minutes and scored a goal. Mainly a late sub. That 2006 team was SO dysfunctional, I think it was a win-win for him not returning in 2007. He played for Herediano for 3 more years after his 2 month stint with us, so clearly he wasn’t completely busted.
