Why the hell do you bother reading the comments on those pages? If you thought sections of BS were unbearable….. Lord Almighty!
It's an ego trip, of sorts. Kind of like when Jeff Foxworthy says he wants to feel better about himself he goes to the state fair. Nothing like experiencing the dregs of humanity to realize that life definitely could be worse. For the record, "SLTrip" was an autocorrect incident, but upon further review, I think I'll continue to call it that from now on.
For pieces sake, this is all a mute point as people will continued to have free rain on what they are going to typed. Plus, I could care less about all of you're corrections. HA! Can't no one find none mistakes hear!
One of my peeves is the use of dominate (the verb) for dominant (the adjective). It happens all the time.
Found this list of eggcorns and mondegreens on Grammarist. Interesting to see how many phrases are misheard.
Thanks for writing these up. I read them every week. Please keep linking to them here! In light of the previous conversation, I just can't pass this up, though: You use the idiom "get a beat on" referring to Philly, but the phrase is actually "get a bead on." It comes from aiming a gun--there is often a small bead on the end of a shotgun or rifle barrel, and when you aim you "draw a bead" or "get a bead" on something by literally putting the bead on it. Hence, getting a bead on something means you can track it and you know where it is going. It doesn't have anything to do with "getting the beat" as in finding the rhythm. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I'd like to point out that I DID NOT make a post pointing out the few other grammar errors as well. At least some one around here has a little restraint. *pats self on back*
Here is my latest Crunching the Numbers. I take a look at when RSL is scoring and giving up goals in matches. http://ccb1212.blogspot.com/2014/04/crunching-numbers-philly.html
who needs an editor when you have bs (no offense @Lizzie Bee - to be fair, she is out of town and didn't edit this one)
I can see when I'm not wanted. I'll take consolation in the fact that I'm spending two weeks by the Mediterranean Sea with a beautiful Arab man. At least somebody wants me.
A very solid piece! I congratulate you on making your first point the first point...this team definitely needs to shoot more. That last touch just seems to elude them too often. So many attacks this year have ended with give-aways rather than shots on goal. Shots on goal deflect, get mishandled and do other things that apply game changing pressure to the opponent.
Should we be worried about Garcia's scoring slump? I look at that along with the other numbers coming out of the Portland match. http://ccb1212.blogspot.com/2014/04/crunching-numbers-portland.html
In my latest look at the RSL Family I talk with Will Johnson. What a good dude. http://ccb1212.blogspot.com/2014/04/rsl-family-will-johnson.html
Just curious, is RSL Facebook Page currently down or something? The following page doesn't seem to work: http://www.facebook.com/realsaltlake The FaceBook link is published at the bottom left corner of the Official Website: http://www.realsaltlake.com/
It worked fine for me on mobile chrome. Wonder if it was down for a short time or some other problem?
Screenshot? It kept redirecting both my Chrome and Android Browser to the deafault FaceBook Home Page.
