You could say he never shifted to the next gear and remained in 2nd or maybe 3rd… at a jogs pace

I was getting really angry that there was not much more agreement and was about to anger-post about skipping over my post!

DLH spent $1M on him and he was in billboards. Played garbage minutes in a game or two and then parted ways at the end of the year.

Yura round 2 was also bad.

Johan Kappelhof really sucked. He gave up some really bad goals in the 6games he played. He did manage to score a goal for us though.

Kotschau was the first name that popped into my head, though. I'm with Kevin on that one.

Wasn’t there some excitement about RSL signing a player nicknamed “the Sicario” or some shit? He ended up scoring an own goal and then was traded away?

The best player to never play here quite a few times was Jared Borgetti. He was the best rumor in town for a couple seasons. At least here. lol

I didn't count the guys on loan (don't know the official rules). MLS teams are allowed a roster budget of $13.83m before they trade away/gain GAM and TAM.

RSL has a budget charge of their senior roster of $9.17m (factored in DP and U22 budget charges being much lower than their salaries). I'd like to know if they have spent some of that on transfer fees or if they are waiting or they just don't want to spend what they are allowed (pretty sure they are spending a decent chunk on their supplemental roster, as much as they are allowed to). I'm pretty sure they didn't spend what they were allowed to last year, either.

Look, injuries are a huge risk in pro sports. Pablo Ruiz had likely earned that paycheck and was entering his prime when he got that contract. Then his ACL and MCL and whatever else have never recovered.

It wasn’t a whiff. It is a misfortune.

I’d bet the Colo Colo thing failed after his medical evaluation.

He was headed to Colo Colo and then picked up a knock in practice that probably scuttled the deal.

Just throwing this in here. I do enjoy Instant Replay but Weibe can't make up his mind or remember from week to week what he calls on the plays.

For example, in this week he is totally fine with the hand ball for Austin with the defender bringing his hand into his chest as he turns from the shot. Obvious hand ball. But a few weeks early he goes out of his way to defend the Justen Glad no call hand ball with his arm out from his body.

I think Justens should have been a hand ball more than the one he immediately dismisses as one.

Fun stuff. Also, that foul on Austin for the PK was pathetic as well. They only show the back side video and even from there you can see the offensive player is locking the defenders arm and dragging him forward until he falls down. Gamesmanship at it's best.

    Fun stuff.

Awesome to see Gozo being so sought after!

RSL better not fumble this with the crazy $20m asking price though. (I hope that the article is just them playing the game and trying to boost the price)

Here are the number of u20 transfers $20M or higher in the history of the reportedly interested teams:

Atletico Madrid: 3 (Felix, Aguero, Vermeeren)
    Lyon: 2 (Fofana, Nuamah)
    Real Sociadad: 1 (Oskarsson)
    Aston Villa: 1 (Duran)
    Hoffenheim: 0

Just putting on the GM hat for a second: Let’s say you get $13M for Gozo and $2-3M for Luna, you can potentially turn that into one or two bona fide stars this summer that could get a team with a solid foundation competing for trophies.

    Dreyer was $6.4M
    Lucho was $6.6M
    Cucho was $11.2
    Surridge was $6.8M
    Bouanga was $5.3M
    Allende was $5.8M
    Mihailovic was $8M
    Evander was $11M
    Rossi was $7M
    Biel was $4.1M
    Cuypers was $12.8M
    Musa was $10.5M

Obviously you can’t always guarantee hits, but if you bought two DP’s for a combined $12-$15M this summer to play with Guillavogi, you would have to think this team could have a legitimate chance to make a run if one of the two turns out to be a top 20 MLS player.

Has any club even offered $10 Million for Goza? The Millers have a good MLS product at the moment and they know it. The fans are enjoying it and the entire league is interested in what RSL is doing. The alleged $20 Million asking price for Goza might simply be “That’s a deal we can’t refuse” from their pov. Without that level of offer they might not be all that motivated to sell him. Why gamble on selling a sure thing and HOPE that you hit with what you buy with the profits? A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush as the saying goes.

Marcos Zambrano (on loan to New England) has been making the bench recently. 12 minutes as a sub last week.

I hope we don't sell Gozo until after the MLS cup. But anything above $16 million would be really hard to refuse.

Also, what if we replace Gozo with Salah or Lewandowski? Thats what Vancouver did last year with Muller and they stayed very relevant after initial successes and trading away 2 young contributors. It is a model that has worked out. Salah wouldnt demand $16 million.

If we only got $3 million for Luna it isnt worth the move. Keep him here.

Also, I think Solans could fetch around $13 million the way he is playing. But losing Solans AND Gozo would make us drop off BIG TIME.

Could we get $30+ for the trio? I wouldnt be shocked.

The best offer so far is not even close to 16. Not even double digits.

I’m sure it will go up though
