I made the mistake of becoming a Dallas Cowboys fan when I was in elementary school because I thought it would be funny to make my 49ers loving family mad. Had a couple of good years, but I know none of my teams (including the ones you listed) are winning hardware this year. EMBRATSU.
Philosophically, I want the Packers to win as they are the smallest media market owned by fans and not a billionaire. In reality, I hate them for propping up decades of the best asshole QBs ever: Aaron Rodgers and Bret Favre. Throw in Rapelisberger, and you have the Holy Trinity of Asshole.
In one of the easiest decisions to be made by the front office, Cabral has been extended through 2027 with club option for 2028. He seems genuinely happy to be here. https://www.rsl.com/news/real-salt-lake-extends-brazilian-gk-rafael-cabral
So he already had a contract through 2026 with options in 2027 and 2028. Is this a new contract with a good raise? Or did they just pick up the 2027 option already?
I’m guessing he’s getting a new contract with bigger pay. I think he was getting around $400k. MacMath is done in Sandy, and Cabral is worth that $750k range easily. Burki is an outlier at $1.5M/yr.
I agree. I don't know why they say it's an extension when it's probably a new contract. I think fans would celebrate seeing "new contract with guaranteed years and justified raises".
Ok, RSL sits 4 points out 9th place, 5 points out of 8th place and 7 points out of 7th place with 7 games left. Here is their schedule compared to the other teams just ahead of them. FCD has the same points as RSL but is behind them on wins. They have the same GD. Tough to say who has the easiest road to the end of the season. If RSL can get points in the next 3 games they might have the easier close to the season but it's tough no matter what. A loss or poor showing on Saturday could really put the screws to the team as they try and keep their heads above water against the 2 games against LAFC. Interesting to say the least. RSL 4 home 3 away SKC LAFC at LAFC Austin Colorado at Seattle at St. Louis HOUSTON 3 home 4 away at St. Louis LA Galaxy at Colorado Portland at Nashville San Diego at SKC SAN JOSE 3 home 2 away LAFC St. Louis at San Diego at Vancouver Austin COLORADO 3 home 2 away Houston at FCD Minnesota at RSL LAFC FCD 3 home 3 away Austin Colorado at Portland LA Galaxy at LA Galaxy at Vancouver
Not looking at the other teams, but assuming we will need 42-43 points to make playoffs. RSL currently sits at 31 meaning they need 11-12 points to make the playoffs using my threshold. It's possible but I wouldn't bet on it. Here's what I see if we were to make the run to get in the playoffs. SKC - Absolute must win to get momentum and SKC is below RSL in standings. Can't drop this one or as rslfanboy said, playoff drive is over. LAFC - 1 point would be great, expecting 0 at LAFC - 0 points Austin - who knows. 1 point Colorado - Absolute must win given home match and we are chasing Colorado to get in playoffs at Seattle - 0 points - During international window. How many players are gone? at St. Louis - Absolute must win given St Louis form. May be a situation of win and in on decision day. This would get RSL 11 points if they got a home points against LAFC mid week and they would finish on 42. Really need to win out at home but I just don't see it happening.
It’s bleak bro. For many reasons. Make sure to keep your speed under 88 and don’t go over 1.2 gigawatts.
