Ajago in 2025 thus far: February: starting in CCC games. March: scores an MLS goal. April: loaned to a USL team. May: huge suspension coming.
That says equally bad things about RSL, Herediano, and CCC in general Our draw was the lowest quality of the bunch, looking back at it… and we still lost
Gozo made this guy's best 11 of US MLS players for last week https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2025-mls-flavors-of-the-week.2133749/page-31#post-42957279 He does this weekly, using whoscored ratings to track up and coming American players in MLS for the USMNT forum. Nice to see Gozo on the list
I'm listening to the Off the Crossbar episode dropped the other day. They are talking about RSL signing a kid from Philly. I haven't heard/seen anything about this. Anyone know anything?
From US Soccer Plus on Instagram Real Salt Lake acquire rights to Mexico youth int’l attacker Diego Rocio from the Philadelphia Union. RSL sign Rocio to pro deal. Starts with 2nd team now, turns to 1st team in January. Rocio, 17, named Player of the Tournament at 2024 GA Cup
Seems like something you should tell fans about given the not so good season. You might have the next Diego Luna...
Here it is https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/real-salt-lake-acquire-forward-diego-rocio-from-philadelphia-union
According to the new club profiles released today, Agada is neither a DP nor a TAM player, and that makes the acquisition that much better. https://mlssoccer.app.box.com/s/21uzjhm7j5cqrsi1rfch0aiaiisny9qv
Regular Season Goals: Chicho Arango: 8 Danny Musovski: 5 Albert Rusnák: 5 Anderson Julio: 3 Ajago+Piol+Agada+Barea: 2 I would take any of them back right now. If not for Luna+Eneli+Cabral we'd be in LA Galaxy territory right now. Edit: OK, I wouldn't take Arango back but I think I made my point.
I don't think I would take any of the back honestly. I think this club has suffered too long with a lck of imagination. Maybe Julio for being a different kind of striker and disruptor. At this point I would throw them all out with the bath water and start over on the striker front. Wouldn't let the door hit Diogo in the butt on the way out either.
You might be right. I don't think it made sense for RSL to keep Rusnak as a DP. Not sure exactly what happened with Musovski (definitely deserved some kind of raise) and the Julio for Manoel swap made sense (in theory). I'm pretty sure Diogo needs to go in the European transfer window, whether it's a discount sale or the Miller's ponying up on a buyout. RSL just can't afford to be getting nearly nothing from a DP.
I think my post was more about how lackluster our strikers have been, which has already been discussed here ad nauseam. But it is disheartening to see ex-RSL players around the league having more individual success than our entire attacking force combined. We offloaded high priced talent in Chicho and Gomez and failed to bring in guys that could measure up to the depth pieces we had behind those players.
Understood. Musovski dug his own grave when he sat out. He could have stayed here but tried to get a bigger payday than the club was probably thinking and then sat out to try and gain some leverage. That did not sit well with the FO even if Pablo started him the week he came back. I don't know much about Rusnak other than he was probably looking for something a little more stable. Didn't he leave before we had an actual owner? He is probably doing better in Seattle but it's not like he has set their world on fire. He is a nice player for sure. They do have some decent numbers early but time will tell. I know a guy who had 17 goals by July or something and then couldn't find the back of the net if you paid him. lol I do like Julio though, but I am sucker for speed. There is so much blame to go round with this club this year. If things don't turn around I am definitely curious to see where the blame lands.
What club in their right mind is paying for Diogo with just 6 months left on his contract this summer? Wait and get him on a free in January it’s a sunk cost. I certainly think the millers should shop him and if anyone is serious explore it, but I have serious doubts it works
Pretty sure it's a guaranteed contract through the end of next season. If it was this year, I'd be encouraging him to sign a pre contract with another club.
Well that sucks Nobody is picking up Diogo. And I don’t know how you convince the millers of all ownership groups to pay someone so not play
It’s almost certain they have the old school philosophy of “The high priced assets don’t sit on the bench”.
