Top talent doesn’t only develop at top clubs. In fact a lot of helping top end talent is just staying out of the way. Rsl has done that, more or less. While it was annoying it took Marczuk getting hurt to open up the opportunity, at least that “blocker” didn’t get put back in after Gozo showed he was ready

Whoa! How did autocorrect take “trying” to “trumping?”

    Sorry everyone. :barefoot:

Federations had to make their requests to FIFA a week or so ago, and while FIFA has not specified how they will assign locations it is presumed they'll accommodate Pot 1 teams, then 2, etc. and then assign the teams coming out of the playoff pots to locales. Announcements have started trickling out - France in Boston, Japan in Nashville, Germany in Winston-Salem - so we might get something soon.

Very interesting this was filed under media resources and not news for fans to easily find.

Anyone know if you can push league-given GAM forward? I know they can't push the $2m from the 2/4 roster model, but I think they can the rest.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with it. Glad, Yedlin and Ruiz are all but guarantees to require TAM to buy down their budget charge. Engel probably does, too. Cabral (hopefully not) and Olatunji are possibilities. RSL seems (again) to have more money to buy down expensive players than they can possibly use given the relatively full senior roster and that DPs don't need to use GAM (but they can).

I'm genuinely interested in seeing the new formation. I think it'll be more of a 3-5-2, they have so many more forwards than AMs. I don't know if we'll see any new players we don't yet know about, but maybe?

We have almost $7M in GAM with the 2/4 setup. Maybe we don’t see anyone tomorrow, but it will be absolutely f********ing criminal if we don’t have a new pricey attacking player by the end of the month.

But you can get new DPs and not use that GAM.

If we can punt on the GAM then maybe we are just stockpiling it for 10 years from now when we buy the entire Real Madrid roster...

Yeah... I doubt it carries on season to season.

You can, but there’s literally NOTHING holding them back with that much GAM hanging around.

Katranis is the starter there with no obvious backup, assuming Engel and Junqua will only play there in emergencies. It is a need I guess.

You can roll forward all but the $2m you get from the 2/4/2 roster model. You can also pull some forward. You can also use to to pay the budget charge due to transfer fees.

Spence says he was told (likely by Trey) to expect (not a guarantee) signings announced on his show Friday. Will they leak before then?

    Oh, my, gosh!

    It's happening!

I actually saw him play two games for Crawley in August of 2021. We went to our first Crawley Town away game at Forest Green and saw them get smoked 6-3 in a pretty up and down match and then the following week at home against Northampton in a 0-0 draw. I do remember liking him and he played on the right wing in a 4-4-2.

It was the trip that really solidified my love for the club. I have been a fan since 2016 when we went to a game randomly when Crawley was playing Luton Town. They won 2-0 and I was a fan by halftime. My daughter and her husband had moved to Cheltenham in 2018 or so and we went to see our second grandson and took them all to the games.

After the Forest Green game I tweeted that we were there and that they had one more game to win for us as we were attending the home game the next weekend. The GM, Tom Allman, dm'd me. We already had tickets and when we picked them up he had left a signed Crawley Town kit and some stickers and stuff. I haven't taken the kit out but there is a good chance he signed it.

The synthesis of a former Crawley Player playing for RSL might be a bit too much to ask for. Knock on wood. Touch wood. Do whatever you can to make this happen Universe.

According to a source at RSL this is not happening. He gets connected with RSL every off season and they don't know why. But a boy can dream, right?
