Very much agreed with you. Columbus, Cincinnati has shown how to do it (little bigger budget though). I hope that they can sprinkle in some good communication to the fans while they're at it though.
At a minimum the fans would have the satisfaction of having an organization that cares about putting a quality and entertaining product on the field. Along with this goes the enjoyment of watching and cheering for a quality and entertaining product. Even if we don’t win MLS Cups we can sometimes make CONCACAF with high finishes it looks like. There is still the USOC to compete for too. We were lucky to win our one scudetto. We weren’t the best team in MLS that season. As long as we have a quality product we will be in play for future cups. We don’t have to be LAFC or Inter-Miami
RSL loans out 2 recent attacking draft picks to USL-C (2nd division in US) clubs. https://www.rsl.com/monarchs/news/rsl-loans-out-attacker-matthew-bell-to-usl-c-side-fc-tulsa https://www.rsl.com/news/rsl-loans-out-winger-bertin-jacquesson-to-usl-c-side-pittsburgh-riverhounds This seems like more evidence that the gap between MLS and MLS NextPRO is too big. I'm not against loans at all, but there should be better opportunities to grow within the club. I'd really like to know the FO's thoughts on this topic.
https://www.rsl.com/news/the-new-rsl-game-model-explained-and-how-new-signings-could-fit-in Long piece on the formation and tactics this year. It's a welcome piece, but maybe one that fans could have used earlier in the year? Also, very interesting that it comes out as RSL will have to make some adjustments to make it work with all the roster changes last month.
The free agent list for this coming offseason has been released - peruse the whole thing here if you'd like. Our trio: Mikael Chang - out of contract Erik Holt - team option Marcelo Silva - out of contract
Probably, but I was really wanting to see what Holt can do in this new system. He can really pass the ball.
He seems fully rehabilitated and yet Quinton got the start and Silva the bench. Had me scratching my head a bit.
A lot of CBs and RBs on that list: Miles Robinson, Aaron Long, Jesus Murillo, Aaron Herrera, Franco Escobar. Also Dayne St. Clair is available too.
Aaron got on the All Star team, and DCU fans love him. I think it will be pretty hard to pry him away from DCU given that he has an option.
I enjoyed the article. Thank you for posting the link. I think he explained the tactics pretty well, although I admit that I don’t always see them as clearly during the run of play as he described them. As a separate, irrelevant observation, the author’s usage of hyperbole expanded as the article lengthened. “Portuguese Magnifico” was particularly amusing.
Yeah most of these guys (probably all) will have their options picked up but man it'd be nice to get a couple of these guys on our roster.
I disagree, this is where the law of averages kicks in. I'd rather play Houston at home rather than LA on the road.
The interview of Kreis with Spence on KALL 700 from yesterday is worth a listen. It's interesting that they're going public trying to push the players. However, I like hearing the expectations. https://espn700sports.com/spence-checketts/
Wow, very interesting. Sounds like they are not messing around or resting on laurels. I like it. Reading between the lines maybe some players became a little complacent or entitled and they are trying to nip that in the bud and keep the fire burning so no one feels really comfortable and everyone is trying to improve. Also perhaps sending a message that there aren't any superstars on this team regardless of talent and experience and if they want to actually win some hardware it will take a team effort. Good stuff
Agreed. I think it's all of those things. Like Jason pointed out, they're making it public so that everyone knows, especially the players. We'll see if they brought in the kind of players that they thought they were bringing in when signing them.
RSL acquires international slot for rest of season Were we out of compliance? Or is someone else coming in?
