The latest three announced: Vancouver at RSL, Saturday 19 September, 7:30 MDT LA Galaxy at RSL, Wednesday 23 September, 7:30 MDT RSL at Minnesota, Sunday 27 September, 6:00 MDT Here be a good place to discuss these games.
With the ridiculous amount of new cases here in Utah, and Canada's really tight regulations on people traveling TO Canada, is this game in jeopardy?
The stupidity in some of these clusters that are responsible for the spike is just... amazing. What was the point of the school boards/government making these policies on how to handle outbreaks if they won't be enforced? In terms of the soccer? Really struggling to find a reason to get excited for this game. I will say, I saw Freddy Juarez at a youth soccer game earlier this week with what I believe was his dad. I said hi and good luck Saturday. I was very tempted to be an asshole and ask wtf happened against the cRapids. But that aint what some random dude at a park should be doing, no matter what I think of his coaching.
As in the other thread I think the over under is 5 and I would take the under. I think they get 4 points if they’re lucky. But what do I know I was only expecting about that many points in the previous six games or so.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ReAlSaltLa...urce=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf “Nearly 40 seconds passed before Real Salt Lake defender Justen Glad provided an answer when asked what the team learned from watching the film of last weekend’s embarrassing home loss to the Colorado Rapids. ‘I don’t know,’ Glad said. ‘I’m going to skip that question, if that’s alright.’ “ Is he serious? Freddy taught them nothing about that game?!
I'm wondering if he's holding his tongue because there was so much on him individually in that game. He had a howler. Though, one theory I haven't seen floated around that my old man has brought up is that the team played as poorly as they did to spite Freddy. I'm not sure there is anything to it. But that poor of play begs the question
“We went over the things that were not good and it ended right there,” Rusnák said of how much the team reviewed game film of the Rapids loss. “Right now we’re not even spending one minute thinking about what happened last Saturday.” Coach Freddy Juarez said when addressing the team Tuesday about the loss to Colorado, he simultaneously didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, but didn’t want to “brush it under the rug” either. He said the team spent five minutes on that game in a film session before moving on. I don’t know man. Sounds like they’re not focusing on it too much.
Some coaches would really home in on the game and hammer, hammer, hammer, while others just sort of move along. I don't think there's a better or worse approach. For us, it's probably the preparation for the game that needs more attention than the game itself. Figure out how we ended up so underprepared for the game and learn that lesson well.
It probably depends on if they think the players already know what happened or not. If it's something that they had been taught and they failed to execute, then hammering it home to show how they failed here and here and here to do what they were taught is probably good, for instance.
Kreis always used to say that he didn't need to chastise his players when they played poorly, they were already extremely hard on themselves. He said he actually needed to be more critical of them when they had success to help them focus on areas that still could have been better.
that is how Kreis was as a player - extremely critical of himself. A lot of pros are that way; you don't get to this level without having either an insane amount of individual talent and/or the ability to self criticize. I don't think there is much here (in terms of not reviewing the cRapids film much). If we see those same issues against Vancouver then maybe there is more to it
I really only use Twitter for one thing: to update regularly when I am waiting to see what lineup RSL will use, announced first via the team account, about an hour before game time. Waiting . . .
Putna Herrera Silva Onuoha Toia Ruiz Beckerman Chang Rusnak Meram Damir Bench: MacMath; Glad, Holt; Besler, Everton, Ramirez; Baird, Garcia, Iloski I'd really like to know what became of Rossi after that start in Minnesota. Sam Johnson is missing from the gameday roster too.
The team broadcast a screenshot on social media indicating Rossi and Sam are injured. Neither is in the actual injury report given to the league though.
Ruiz really does have a great outside shot. There's a series of three very good chances for us, to no avail.
After that game I thought to myself, “ He’s not in shape and just went a full game. He could come up lame for a bit.” (Based on personal experience).
