Once again I'm looking for tickets to the game! Message me if you have anything! I can't offer much for the tickets (otherwise I would have just purchased season tickets), so if you can get more for them then by all means do it, but keep me in mind!
I noticed while watching some March Madness games that I am no longer used to the basketball experience. Any small amount of contact is a foul and most of the contact is initiated by the supposed foul-ee. It drives me crazy to see a defender jump straight up and the offensive player will pretend to shoot while diving sideways and if there is any contact it's the defensive player that gets punished. And then basketball fans turn around and call soccer players fakers. And that's college ball. Add obvious bias and favoritism to star players in the NBA and I find it nearly unwatchable. </RANT>
A good friend of mine once told me that soccer is a "pussy sport" because of the minimal contact allowed. I told him that I assumed he had never watched a soccer game because there is actually much more contact involved in soccer than basketball (not slighting basketball at all, just pointing it out) and that began one of the longest and most pointless arguments I have ever been in in my life. I'd say it was at that moment when I decided to no longer argue with people who hate soccer.
Yes. Previous rant notwithstanding, if you enjoy it, have a great time. I feel no need for anyone to sign a soccer exclusivity fandom contract.
I won a t-shirt with Front Row Joe on it when I was about 7 years old. I thought I was the coolest kid because I was the only person I knew with a Front Row Joe shirt.
I watch a ton of college basketball and I agree that it's gotten too foul-ish. The argument that I heard from a NCAA referee one time is that it's not a contact sport. I agree to a certain extent but it's hard to avoid contact in the sport. One thing referees are supposed to be looking at is adopting an advantage rule like soccer. The problem is that basketball moves so much faster and is in such a confined area that you don't have as much time to make a call.
I totally get ya. Soccer and Maradona was my first love, followed quickly by basketball and MJ. I also love NCAA football and basketball (Go Utes). Baseball and Hockey can take a hike. Please, no NFL.
Ok, which one of you guys called the authorities on our LB? http://www.denverpost.com/rapids/ci...der-mekeil-williams-stuck-trinidad-visa-issue
Ugh. Hasn't she destroyed enough properties yet? Bring back Sammy J. (No, I don't own a copy of Elektra. Why do you ask?)
Check with the University of Utah compliance office. They specialize in this. Nice start to the season JasonMa, especially defensively...two goals conceded in 4 games is pretty damn good...and you beat LA, which if fantastic. In fact RSL has had more red cards and suspensions than you've conceded goals. That's saying something. Odds are this match will have more scoring than your previous four (in both directions). It's going to be nice to beat you guys when you aren't licking the film off the cellar floor (hopefully we won't be either).
So you missed the memo that said that basketball would become a "march march march to the free-throw line" event? I see.
Quite seriously, I'm curious how Colorado's defense will hold up. They've been very effective this year, they're great in the air, Burling is a journeyman goon but an effective one. The Sjoberg kid looked like a budding star last year. The questions I'm looking forward to seeing answered - relative to these CBs - are 1. Will they minimize our ability to score on set pieces? 2. Will our quick skilled attack lure them into mistakes and fouls in bad spots? It's an interesting matchup, 2 goals a game vs. 0.5 goals a game against. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
Olave and Javi are healthy enough for the 18 but Glad and Luke keep their spots in the starting XI. Interesting. Rimando Beltran Glad Maund Wingert Beckerman Sunny Martinez Mulholland Plata Yura -Or- Rimando Beltran Glad Maund Wingert Beckerman Sunny Luke Martinez Yura Plata
