Liverpool's hopes of signing Djilbril Cisse from Auxerre this summer have been hit by Guy Roux's insistence that he wants to keep hold of the striker. Roux, who is close friends with Reds boss Gerard Houllier, has even threatened to end his 30-year association with Auxerre if Cisse is sold. "I don't want him to leave, and I would have to consider my own position if he does," he told the Mirror. "This is not the right time to be talking about transfers. There are contracts running, and they have to be respected. "I have heard the talk about Cisse - and Boumsong and Mexes - but they are contracted to this club, and I don't want them to leave. "Cisse has a contract until 2007, and it has to be respected. "I know Gerard well, but that alters nothing. "It is not unusual for Auxerre players to be linked with moves abroad - it happens at the end of every season - but my feelings are clear."
