I guess from the FL's point of view they want it so that the match result hasn't changed to prevent any other teams from being negatively impacted by Brighton suddenly gaining 3pts. Everyone's been saying that we'll be "docked the 3pts we won from the match" but it seems to be that as far as the FL are concerned the result still stands, they've simply docked us 3pts for fielding an ineligible player which just so happens to coincide with the points we earned in the match. It's a bit unfair that we get a more severe punishment than Blackpool for committing the same offence though. I read someone say earlier that the issue with the paperwork was at Derby's end which might be why we're going to appeal it, even if that's the case I still don't think we'll have a leg to stand on. It's pretty stupid to field a player without first getting confirmation from the FL.
Wow, what an afternoon of twists and turns. Ten minutes to go things weren't looking too good for us but how quickly things turn around, I hadn't even stopped celebrating Derby's equaliser when we equalised ourselves, Millwall fans must have been gutted.
Match highlights, check out the Derbyshire miss at 2:20 it sums up our season along with Norwich's wonder goal. There's a good article in the star as well: http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...t-rotherham-united-1-norwich-city-1-1-7229885 Now fingers crossed we can beat Reading, if it goes down to the last day anything can happen Millwall and Wigan will have nothing to lose and all of the presure will be on us.
Another huge match tonight, hopefully we can beat Reading so that we can enjoy the last day but if not a draw would be a big result for us, that way Wigan will be relegated we'll only need a draw against Leeds no matter what happens in Millwall's last match.
Nil-nil at the half. Rotherham outshooting Reading 9-1, so they appear to be on the front foot ... as you'd expect, since a draw does nothing for them. Hopefully this gets sorted and doesn't go down to game 46. Myshoe and Howard Webb would be on pins and needles come that day.
Hurrah!!!! absolutely delighted and we did it the hard way with a 3pt deduction. I have no doubt next season will be even more competitive but I think the first season is biggest hurdle especially after 2 promotions in 2 seasons. One of our players had a message for Lee Gregory of Millwall who said we would bottle it. 593156054265012224 is not a valid tweet id
He's removed the Tweet it was a photo of the players celebrating. Evans has done some cracking interviews tonight if you're a Rotherham fan, I suppose everyone else will just throw up. He's practically in tears in this one and calls out Lee Gregory: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02q716t Good interview with the chairman and Evans here: https://audioboom.com/boos/3130277-interview-tony-stewart-steve-evans Wow what a huge relief I was dreading it going down to the final day.
Yeah it's probably best he doesn't visit southeast London for a while... "look forward to League One son". We'd be 19th in the table now without the points deduction, I'm just glad it hasn't cost us and it's unlikely to ever happen again after the scare whoever cocked up will have received. The summer transfer window will play a big part in how we do next season, hopefully we can bring in more permanent signings now that we've proven we have what it takes to stay up.
This could get rather hilarious, it might give him a bit of good PR for once (minus the fat jokes). http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/9828048/sombreroforsteve #SombreroForSteve 29/04/15 12:14pm Rotherham manager Steve Evans said he would wear a sombrero and beach wear in their game against Leeds on Saturday if they managed to avoid relegation. After they achieved this feat, Rob Wotton reminded him of this on The Morning View. Leeds have already Tweeted about it: .@SkySportsNewsHQ The away dugout at Elland Road is ready... #SombreroForSteve #lufc #rufc pic.twitter.com/PVuTGvwXEp— Leeds United (@LUFC) April 29, 2015 https://twitter.com/hashtag/SombreroForSteve?src=hash
The club should market Saturday as a fancy dress day and get a load of Sombrero's in at the shop and sell them on the day outside the ground, give the proceeds to a charity, get a bit of good publicity for once.
Our players might be a bit lethargic they only came back to training yesterday according to reports. Evan's doesn't like losing but he might also decide to use it as a chance to look at some of our squad players ahead of our usual summer transfer merry go round, on the other hand though if he plays a strong side we might play like Real Madrid now that the pressure is off.
He does what he wants! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/rotherham-manager-steve-evans-attends-5621229
Leyton Orient relegated to League Two only 12mths after being only a couple of penalty kicks away from beating us to the Championship. I still disinctly remember the jubilant scenes of their fans celebrating during half time of the Play off final when they were 2-0 up against us, it's been all down hill for them ever since.
