Blackpool fan in peace here. There's a lot going on regarding the way the owners of BFC run the club and is an ongoing situation here. There's a petition currently going around in an attempt to make Karl Oyston (Blackpool Chairman) step down from his position with immediate effect. Mr. Oyston has most recently been in the media having engaged in a series of abusive text exchanges with Blackpool supporters including references to disabilities and 'special needs'. Karl Oyston is also a member of the Football League board and therefore has an influential role in the decisions that won't just effect Blackpool, but any other clubs within the Football League. The petition page itself goes into more detail and the link is listed below: Petition Link Any support is greatly appreciated and are now aiming towards 5000 supporters of the petition. Thanks. Good luck to Rotherham for the rest of the season... a few decent signings in January and they should be good to go.
Hi Seasider22, signed. I've been following your clubs plight since before the season started, I think I even posted a Channel 4 new report on here when they were reporting on how your owner had funneled money from BFC to support the rest of his business empire, plus the fact that you didn't have enough players to have any kind of pre-season. We struggled for a few years under neglectful/poor ownership and it led to 2 relegations to League Two, several administrations, almost being liquidated and ultimately having to wave goodbye to Millmoor due to the crippling rent costs. Then Tony Stewart took over in 2008 and we've been on the up ever since. Best of luck getting in an owner that the fans deserve and I'm sure the rest will fall in place and you'll bounce back. Your defence has been rock solid in fairness, you'd easily be sitting in the playoffs now if you didn't have the worst goal scoring record in the division. Whose clever idea was it to blow £800k on a two legged donkey like Stevie May.
Hey, thanks for the support Myshoe! The petition has reached over 5000 supporters now (and counting). It's always good to see fans of other clubs joining together to try and kick these kind of situations out of the game. As for the Channel 4 piece, I remember watching it at the time and found it a very interesting and well put together report. I believe that was one of the first articles that created bad publicity for the owners this season, since then the media started to take more notice of what was going on. Like you mentioned, hopefully this will eventually lead to a suitable owner taking over. Valeri Belokon, the clubs' Latvian president would be the fans choice, alongside a local business partner. Good luck v Bournemouth... they seem to have a great set-up this season.
Blackpool owners now suing some of their fans, what a shocking state of affairs. It seems like they just want to drive everyone away and wind up the club.
We've signed a couple of Huddersfield Town players on loan with a view to a permanent move and the Terrier fans aren't happy, "why are we bolstering our relegation rivals" etc. We beat Leeds again. http://www.huddersfield.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=383690
if i evr win the lottery i'd look into buying a club. right now my first choice would have been hereford... blackpool is on the list now too...
Yeah it's really sad about Hereford United, love their club crest as well. We're being heavily linked with Conor Sammon. I don't know whether to laugh or cry that someone dedicated a video like that to him. Bournemouth at the weekend, I'll take a 0-0 bore draw thank you very much. edit: confirmed. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/article/...n-joins-rotherham-united-on-loan-2204907.aspx
At least it was only 2-0 this time and they are top of the league, we drew with them earlier in the season that's got to be worth bragging about. I can't see where our next win is coming from, I'd like to think we can beat Charlton but I thought that about Blackpool twice.
Delighted with the performance and especially the result tonight, we just need to stop turning into a defensive wreck when it comes to seeing out games from winning positions. Bolton's two late goals were shockingly bad from our point of view.
We'd have gone above Leeds if we hadn't had a late panic attack, if we can beat Charlton we should climb a few places.
Is Seasider22 still knocking around? what's happening to your pitch has your groundsman walked out? just watched the highlights I've seen more greenery in a desert.
He hasn't posted since January 2. I did a search for Blackpool's field conditions and didn't find anything to answer your question, but I did find http://www.theguardian.com/money/2013/jul/27/blackpool-most-unhealthy-place-england which is titled "Why Blackpool is the most unhealthy place in England."
I did a search earlier and there's a thread about it on their forums: http://www.backhenrystreet.co.uk/thread-23616.html They've been training on it during the week, it sounds like it's a ploy to stop visiting teams being able to play good football. Brighton's players are complaining: http://www.seagulls.co.uk/news/article/brighton-hove-albion-bruno-worst-pitch-2239136.aspx From what I saw on the Football League show last night it looked like the worst pitch in all 3 divisions.
7 points out of 9 from our last 3 games (and should have been 9/9 really), not bad in this league. Most Ipswich fans loved our pubs: Probably the best thing about going to Rotherham! Pretty awesome sign! #ITFC 💙 pic.twitter.com/E8Gv1xHs4m— Laura-Jade 💙⚽️🏴⚽️🏴💙 (@LJChinery) February 7, 2015
