We played well again but still can't score, it didn't help today that Taylor who has looked the most dangerous of our strikers was out with a virus.... I'm not panicking yet but we're going to need to start scoring to avoid getting sucked into a relegation battle, we can't expect our defence to be keeping clean sheets every game in the hope of nicking lucky goals.
Here's a piece featuring the Rotherham win at Millwall. Check it out: http://www.splicetoday.com/sports/an-american-in-millwall
At least he is talking to them again. He might be a sore loser but that's not a bad quality for a football manager, it seems like some managers nowadays just can't wait to collect their compensation package for being sacked - if Steve Evans was like that we'd still be sitting in League Two. He's worked his balls off to take us up two divisions and it's good to see that he isn't resting on his laurels having reached the big boys playground. Financially our level is League One so we'll always struggle to sign top quality players when other clubs in the division are flexing their cheque books (ie. Wednesday with Stevie May), we'll just have to continue to be shrewd and try to stay in the Championship for as long as possible with a view to gradually expanding our fanbase/stadium.
true dat.. and we jut signed someone else too… Owls sign Reading winger Drenthe: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/teams/sheffield-wednesday
We've just signed Luciano Becchio on a long term loan. He was great for Leeds hope he does the same job for us.
Yeah hope so.. we also signed a young striker from Oldham for a club record fee (ie. peanuts compared to most Championship clubs), I'd expect Taylor and Becchio to be playing up front in the short term though. I'm feeling a lot more confident about our scoring ability now.
A winnable game for us tonight against Bolton but why do I get the feeling we'll balls it up? they got battered by Wednesday at the weekend and were lucky to come away with a point... we'll probably batter them and lose. Fingers crossed our strikers find their goal scoring feet tonight!
In the last two games we've picked up 4pts by beating Blackburn and drawing today against top of the table Norwich. It's a good thing as well with everyone down the bottom pick up points, if we can continue to keep our heads above water and stay out of the relegation zone there'll be less pressure on us.
steve continues to make friends throughout the football world: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...Jordan-Rhodes-row-Steve-Evans-50k-wages-claim that's a solid result, though, without a doubt. there are some fairly biggish clubs looking up the table at rovrum these days.
He's been talking publically about how other clubs players are earning a gazillion pounds a week since the start of the season, I think it's just his way of galvanising the squad for this season.
Our first Yorkshire derby of the season in a little under 5 hours time. Come on Millers lets smash Leeds live on TV.
Thanks guys, yeah great night I was well chuffed. Fulham tonight, it sounds like both of us got battered by Norwich recently but they nicked a win, fingers crossed we send another set of fans home lamenting about being beaten by a pub team.
They got a penalty from a dive for their first goal. I'm starting to feel a lot more positive though we are now scoring goals and finding our feet in the league after a very defensive/tentative start. We were only 5mins away from being level on points with the Owls which is a great achievement from where we were only two seasons ago.
