Brooke Norton-Cuffy recalled by Arsenal and then immediately goes out on loan to Coventry, well it could be worse at least they aren't a relegation rival.
It's official, under Matt Taylor's coaching we're now a mid-table League One side.. like Exeter. err, what's that saying? you get what you pay for!
Ipswich had 15 shots 7 on target. We had 4 shots 2 on target (one of those a penalty). We didn't just lose we were thoroughly outplayed.
Actually goalkeeping is the one department where we look quite solid and rumours say that Johansson has signed a new contract as well. We could probably put Kenny up front as a target man though, don't think he could do any worse than any of other strikers at holding up the ball since Smith left.
We signed a couple of defenders until the end of the season. Leo Hjelde young kid on loan from Leeds and Sean Morrison a free agent who recently left Cardiff following recovery from a serious injury. Both players have started today and so far so good. Touch wood.
Credit to Taylor where it is due, he signed two players, put them straight into the team and it paid off. That performance was a lot more reminiscent of how we started the season, creating chances, scoring goals, keeping clean sheets, playing without fear. Long may it continue.....
He switched our formation to a back four that's probably what helped the most, he had us playing with a back three prior to yesterday.
Watching the highlights and some clips we were back to our high intensity pressing game, Blackburn had something like 75% possession but didn't have a shot on target in the second half.
I don't think anyone did hopefully it was us being good and not Blackburn being awful. Taylor seems to have gone back to what made us successful this match at least, perhaps he realised he was trying to change too much too quickly.
3rd signing another loan player Tariqe Fosu from Brentford, he has spent the first half of the season on loan at Stoke. No idea if he's eligible to play today.
We have a tendency to time waste early on and Watford players dive whenever tackled so there was a fair bit yeah, 5mins added in the first half too. Fosu started and missed a sitter second half but Watford missed a fair few chances too. 4pts against 2 teams who were 3rd in the table prior to kick off, got to be delighted with that especially on the back of our recent disastrous form. It's just a shame we gifted the likes of Huddersfield 3pts while Taylor was experimenting or whatever.
Rumours flying around today that Jordan Hugill is having a medical with a view to joining on a 3.5yr deal.
